    Screamfest was super awesome!

    by Goomba on 2011-11-01Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

    The "What Lurks in the Dark" Haunted House was the very best. The others were very well done - I had VIP tickets and it was well worth it since I got to skip every line! The carnival games were fun!

    We had a blast, and were scared silly at some points! We really enjoyed the stage entertainment as well as the haunted houses.

    I took my nephew to it and we had a blast!! It wasn't too scary, but enough raise a few shrieks between the 2 of us. Will be going back again next year.

    The haunted house were real fun and scary! the people working there and the actors were fun, outgoing and true to character. The big issue are the lines to go into the haunted houses... we spent 3 hours at screamfest and did 3 houses; the rest was spent waiting in line. 10 minutes of house visiting for 2h50min of waiting in line. So for so much waiting around doing absolutely nothing versus the time spent in each house... this event gets 3 stars.

    I expected it to be much scarier. The houses were put together well but they just weren't scary. Also the amount of smoke in there made it nearly unbearable.

    ScreamFest is for Kids

    by NeutrinoMan on 2011-10-30Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

    The bottom line is that ScreamFest has the stink of a junior high school dance - very loud teeny-bop music, and childish attractions aimed at getting 14-16 year olds to part with their money. The "scare" parts of ScreamFest have little sophistication, basically just people screaming at you loudly as you come around a corner. BTW, the line-ups for the attractions are HORRENDOUSLY long. Prepare to be very bored. If your 30+, there's nothing for you at ScreamFest. Nothing. You'd be much better off finding a pub/sportsbar with a Halloween theme night, you'd have a lot more fun.

    it was very good experience. scary at parts, but defenitley worth going. plus it was all for charity, so a very good cause. the haunted houses were very well put together, and we all enjoyed it very much.

    Screamfest = Lamefest

    by Halloweener on 2011-10-24Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

    We waited over 1 hour to go through a 2 minute display. At that rate if you went there at 7:00 you would barely get through all 5 haunted houses by 12:00, nevermind see the other displays or activities. The Speed Pass purchasers all get in first and repeatedly, so if you buy the regular pass you just wait and wait. It is a total rip off. One haunted house is nothing but blackness with some curtains touching you. Very lame.
