The show was fantastic! Loved it❤ Sergio, his wife and the rest of the band were spot on.

All band was top notch and Sergio did a great job . Lots of energy .

The only bad thing was no pictures or recorded was allowed

Sergio and his singers and band were fantastic. Show was just under 1.5 hrs. Seating is tight. No picture taking allowed, unlike OLG larger venue. No beverages allowed. Parking on site is very expensive but there are many places to park nearby if you don't mind walking a couple blocks. Prefer Avalon to OLG only because it's easier to access but both are great venues.

Enjoyed the show - classics including Antonio Carlos Jobim’s with some lesser known songs incorporating core Brazilian beats! Not bad at all for a band of the 60s still able to bring it on.

It was an evening of nostalgia mixed with new and trendy sounds. Sergio Mendes, as always, put a musical package together that was rich in sound and visually spectacular. The setlist was great and showcased just a cross section of the vast treasure of music that this outstanding musician has crafted for worldwide audiences over the decades. A concert like this just proves that Sergio Mendes has the ability to traverse the musical timeline, produce fresh sounds, and still retain his unique signature Brasilian style. His wife, Gracinha Leporace, was gorgeous as ever with her luscious voice that Brasil 66, 77, and 88 (and so on!) fans instantly recognize and love. The audience participation was fun, and I hope that the listeners' warm response for Sergio's music that evening at the River Rock will draw him back to Vancouver as a regular part of his tour circuit. My family and I have followed Sergio Mendes and his group from our days in the Philippines, and now we form part of an enthusiastic fan base in Vancouver. You have many fans in the Philippines and in Vancouver, Sergio! Come back soon! Balut!

What a pleasant evening! Sergio Mendes was fantastic. The band was very tight and well rehearsed. The vocals were amazing. Those ladies can sing! Some songs they sing so fast and at the same time....and right on!! There was a nice blend of tunes from Brazil 66, Timeless and Swinger from Rio. There are so many wonderful songs they have played over the years - it was easy to know almost all their songs. You could tell they were enjoying themselves...there was a good energy between them. All in all a wonderful night. Thank you!

What a great time we had. Such classic music from that era. River Rock, keep up the great job in bringing quality entertainment to the Lower Mainland.

What a rare treat to see the legendary Sergio Mendes in such an intimate venue. After more than 40 years after Brazil 66 he is staying current and re-inventing himself with the addition of rappers like H2O for some of his classic hits. Sergio was very hot on the keyboard and was still the backbone of the band which was very tight and was so enjoying themselves you couldn't help but feel like you were in Brazil amongst a street full of revellers during Carnival. The trademark female vocals that I can remember so clearly as a boy of 8 or so were very well represented by the current singers. Just stunning really, they were. The percussionist and rapper H2O added to the well rounded and entertaining show. Thank you Sergio.God give you many more years behind the keyboard.
