What a great show! I must say that the venue was superb and the band were at their best! Best show I've ever seen at the Commodore! Hands down! Thanks Skinny Puppy for putting a great show for the fans before riding off into the sunset.....
Fantastic!!!! They represented their true love and respect for the art. They brought forth all the power and energy in a display of pure magic. I was left speechless by the end of it, I'm still buzzing. I have been to many many shows in the past a this was in the top five to date. Skinny Puppy are the godfathers of industrial!!! R.I.P Dwayne Goettel, thanks for everything.đđœ
Tell these guys not to retire. Itâs industrial. Itâs rock. Itâs thrash. Itâs intermingled with macabre theatre that challenges the sensibilities of the masses. Manson, 3Teeth, NIN, they all came after Skinny Puppy. Not sayin they ripped em off, just sayin they created a sound, and that sound is now world-famous and represented by many. Yet so many ppl say âwhoâs Skinny Puppy?â
Skinny Puppy at Grey Eagle was one of the best times Ive ever had at a concert. The venue was jist big enough to still feel intimate. And the band, well what can be said?! Their performance was amazing! Thank you to Grey Eagle. Oh! Also, the Blaze Burger at the casino sports bar was frickin tasty! And Jack and Andrea were awesome hosts!
For me, 5 stars is reserved for "life altering". 4 stars is "excellent". First, Skinny Puppy put on a great show. They have been on my bucket list for years, and I'm glad I finally got to see them on their final run. The setlist was great, the show was terrific. Despite being around since '82, they didn't disappoint. Next up, I was impressed with the venue. Getting in and out was quick and easy, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the sound was good.
My wife and a couple of friends went to the show and we knew it was gonna be a good show cause we saw a few clips online. When we got there we couldn't believe what they had in store. They played out a story with the songs and it was so well done and acted I was mesmerized. The alien theme was amazing and they engaged with the audience then afterwards they took a quick 10min break and played another 30mins! These guys rocked! Me and my wife were sad that it was over and hope we can see them again but glad we got to see them on the final tour! If you are thinking about it don't think just get some tickets and go! I hope they film the last show so we can relive the show over and over! Rot and assimilate!
The venue security are randomly strict. They let folks in wearing spikes, but I was forced to toss my headband in the trash. Aside from that, the concert was perfection. Skinny Puppy did their thing and everyone in the crowd was chill. No drama that I could see. Best concert in forever.
Sadly a Farewell tour...only wish they could have played more shows to cover all of their material!! Thanks for the memories....many shows at the Concert Hall from 1987 until the early '90s.
