About

SLEIGH BELLS IN CONCERT:

Noise pop duo Sleigh Bells are masters of leveraging minimal musical elements to maximum effect. Their anthemic tracks often employ little more than a hard-hitting beat, the distorted guitar work of Derek Edward Miller, and the adrenaline-filled vocals of Alexis Krauss, but despite their stripped-down makeup they always sound larger than life. From the fuzzed-out stomp of "Infinity Guitars" to the pummel-pop of "Comeback Kid", Sleigh Bells' high-energy sound is matched by their equally electrifying performances on tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Sleigh Bells, a.k.a. Alexis Krauss and Derek Edward Miller, formed in Brooklyn in 2008. They released a self-titled debut EP in 2009, and soon afterwards signed to M.I.A.'s N.E.E.T. record label for their 2010 debut full-length album Treats. The album cracked the Top 40 of the Billboard 200, propelled by considerable blog buzz and catchy singles like "Tell 'Em". A slew of high-profile festival appearances followed, including performances at Coachella, Primavera Sound, and the Pitchfork Music Festival.  Their 2012 sophomore album Reign of Terror was an even bigger success, peaking at No. 12 in the US and landing on charts throughout Europe. In 2013 Sleigh Bells released their third album Bitter Rivals to another round of critical praise, supporting the release with a 30 date US tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"...Sleigh Bells and Alexis Krauss are refreshingly charismatic and one of the only groups that actually knows how to put on a rock show. Their sound is stripped down but refined. Minimalist but full."

"Saw Sleigh Bells on the last show of their tour and they were incredible. Brought all the energy of their recordings times 1000."

"This was my first Sleigh Bells show and it was incredible! The crowd was so into it. I left a sweaty mess. Her voice, the beat, and the guitar?! I didn't know if I wanted to lose my mind, dance, or crowd surf."

    Sleigh Bells Don't Hit It

by EDTor on 2011-05-26Sound Academy - Toronto

Love Love Love the Album, had been wanting to see them live for months! I think the venue might not have been the best for them and CSS as it was not a sold out show. I think they may have been use to a much more hyped up crowd because Toronto was not doing it for them. They repeatedly told the crowd to get into it, and we were just not having it, well some of us. As a result, they were not the awesome group I've seen in countless YouTube vids. I'd like them to come back and do a show with them headlining because I think there awesome and will get the reception they need.

    Sleigh Bells was forgettable

by Graphicdude on 2011-05-25The Starlite Room - Edmonton

I love their music and their talents but their live show is in need of serious work. I can get over the shear loudness of their concert but I cannot get over that the loudness muffled Alexis' vocals severely. I didn't like the fact that she sang over top of the recorded tracks and that Derek would disappear for half of the songs. They have great stage presence but a set that was maybe 30-40 minutes doesn't cut it. I was hoping to hear some new songs or maybe some covers so that I would see them for at least 1 hour on stage. The concert could have been awesome if the music didn't drown out the vocals and if they had brought some new material

    Sleigh Bells killed it

by QuinncyJ on 2011-05-25The Starlite Room - Edmonton

Awesome show from start to finish. Neon Indians rocked. Oberhofer was a surprising win for us. Then when Sleigh Bells walked out headbanging to Ozzy it was on and none of us looked back. That was rad!

    Shiny Sleigh Bells!

by doggieD on 2011-05-25The Starlite Room - Edmonton

Fantastic show! There's not a ton of material yet, but holy smokes, this band is blowing up all over the place. Loud, bright, intense and definitely worth every penny!

    I love you, CSS!

by Aislene on 2011-05-19Sound Academy - Toronto

I love CSS but I never saw them in concert before. Totally worth it, LoveFoxxx was amazing and... It was just awesome. The leader singer even went to the merchandise booth to sign things. Sleigh Bells was also amazing. I liked the first band that played before the main two but the second band was not as great. Overall... See CSS... They are true performers!
