Socalled's eclectic offering of musical styles, including the "compulsory" 20% jazz, mixed with unique humor made for an uplifting evening and our desire for more... Again, Joshua Dolgin didn't disappoint; after the Jazz Fest timeslot expired, and most of the audience had habitually exited, out came Joshua, with his accordion "unplugged", on to the lawn to reward those remaining and demanding an encore. The clapping and chanting crowd eventually convinced the sound board operator to mute the background tracks and the party continued. We even got a picture. Socalled won us over big-time! Thank you. And thank you Le Festival International de Jazz de Montréal for such a smooth operation. And thank you Rio Tino Alcan for sponsoring this show and providing the collector edition aluminum water bottle!
