Sophie is the real deal! We really enjoyed the show. The band was in tune. try to see her before she is a superstar.
This was the 2nd time I've had the pleasure of seeing Sophie Milman perform. Along with her beautiful voice, she engages the audience with her stories of her life and experiences. She is truly happy to be on stage and pleasing her audience. Her band is amazingly talented, especially the guitarist and pianist that played on November 3rd. I loved the venue - L'Astral - the intimacy, great acoustics, and casual atmosphere. My friend and I found ourselves smiling throughout the show....great way to spend a cold, almost winter Montreal night....
She was amazing with a lot of charm. It was an absolute delight to be entertained by such a talent. Her band was professional and who obviously enjoyed their job!
Enjoyed every song she sang and her support band members were all extremely talented. Sophie's French and Russian songs were particularly moving, and she had a great rapport with her audience. It felt like we were in the performer's own living room!
An amazing singer and a great band make for another unforgettable evening at the N.A.C. Come back real soon Sophie!
Sophie Milman can certainly sing a song better than most. She has wonderful tonality and relationship to each song. However, Sophie did not entertain her audience. Her interchange with the audience was to tell us about her recent trip to Japan. Sophie has significant potential but must learn to entertain her audience; not just sing. She reminds me of the early Diana Krall - great technique no pizzaz. I am a music consumer and to get a better understand what I am attempting to convey, watch a performance by Nikki Yanofsky. The relationship with the audience is what makes a singer an entertainer. I have all of Sophie's CDs and know that she will be a star one day.
