    Spring Awakening was incredible

    by Joie0256 on 2010-05-07Fisher Theatre - Detroit

I didn't know what to expect with regards to seeing this play, the tickets were a gift to my daughter and I, but I am grateful to have had the opportunity to see Spring Awakening. The talented cast, poignant story and beautiful musical score made it a wonderful experience. It was serious and heart breaking, but engaging as well, I hope those I recommended to see it will have an opportunity to go, and enjoy it as much as I did

    Spring Awakening was wonderful!

by ZDawg on 2010-05-06Fisher Theatre - Detroit

Highs-Knowing nothing about the show prior to stepping in to the theater I was treated to numerous surprises. The setting, the story and the stage were all very unique. The acting, singing and choreography were all superb. The orchestra was excellent and on stage and not in an orchestra pit. There are some very talented performers in this ensemble. Lows-It was very unique to see performers pull 21st Century wireless microphones out of 19th Century costumes. I'm not so sure that was necessary. Sounds like an idea agreed to over a few libations. Nipple lights on the background wall were just wrong. Something lantern style maybe. Overall an excellent show and an excellent performance

    A fantastic show!!!

by Cindybow on 2010-05-03Fisher Theatre - Detroit

This was our third time to see Spring Awakening. Twice in Toronto. The touring cast is great!!! Steffi D's vocals are phenomenal. You need to have an OPEN MIND when viewing this production. I found that the Detroit audience did not appreciate this performance. Toronto is a much more liberal City and the audience received the performance with enthusiasm, whereby the Detroit audience was completely not into it at all. Boo Detroit!!!!!

    Again

by meagylynne on 2010-04-27Fisher Theatre - Detroit

I LOVED IT! I watched the tour cast last August in Chicago! I had to bring my boyfriend to see it in Detroit and he loved it too! He woke up the next morning singing the songs! You will never let me down! The best show in the world! Love you all!

    New Age Musical Entertainment

by MusicalNewcomer on 2010-03-07DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

This was by far the best musical I have ever seen! Even if the ones I have seen in the past are few and far between, this really spoke to me, entertained me, captured my every thought. A must see for everyone! even if you have never gone to a musical before, this will turn you on! in more ways than one :)

    Spring Awakening was uninspiring

by Jophus on 2009-08-08Ford Center for the Performing Arts - Chicago

The show was not at all innovative, or interesting. I'm usually easy to entertain, and I was bored throughout. The singing was beautiful, but that's it. I can't understand how this won all the awards. I must be missing something, but I'd NOT recommend this show. Also, the theatre where we saw it (Ford Theatre in Chicago) was very unhelpful when the original seats we bought (1st row centre balcony) had abtructed views of the front of the stage due to the lighting in front of us). All in all, we had a lousy experience.

    Spring Awakening was unforgettable!!

by notreallyGinger on 2009-08-05Ford Center for the Performing Arts - Chicago

The Chicago cast was amazing - strong vocal performances from all. The use of modern music with the choreography was engaging. The mature content was handled tastefully. It was very interesting to see spectators onstage, as well as the way that prop and scene management was done by the actors. Clever!! I recommend not getting a seat too far to the left or right in the first 12 - 15 rows (in Chicago), as the view is obstructed by the large sound system. This is definitely a MUST SEE show, and definitely for MATURE audiences only!
