Best show since El corazon tour maybe even better! great band! Loved the set list.
The Wilton sisters were awesome. Of Steve Earl was amazing as always. A collection of the best musicians you can see!! Loved the atmosphere
It was spectacular. You could tell he loved doing the show. There is tabard seat in the house. It was wonderful.
Steve and the Dukes were good as always, the show however was ruined by over served patrons who’s loud shouts and obnoxious behavior overwhelmed the concert hall. This was not a localized problem at our seats bust seemed to be happening all through the Burton Cummings Theatre that night. After struggling to actually her the music for the first hour we left after having beer spilled all over our backs …. Twice. We couldn’t beleive the amount of drunken behavior (even for a Dukes concert) and attribute it to staff vastly overserving bery thirsty clients before and during the performance. We hoped to hear some of Steve Earls recent songs and while he plywd some they couldnt be heard over the crowd. This behavior also overwhelmed the opening act and ruined the evening for us and I’m sure many others. We weren’t the only ones walking out halfway through the performance. Steve Earl is great, too bad the event staff werent able to let his performance be heard.
Steve Earle put on a great show. Did the entire album and them a bunch of other favourites. The Birchmere is a great venue or such a show. The line number system at the Birchmere is really fair. Grab a number, have a drink and then enter at 6pm. All of the seats seem good.
This is the 5th or 6th time I have seen Steve Earle either solo or with his band. This was a very strong show. The set list was dominated by Steve's more bluesy repertoire, but had a few major tunes added in - Galway Girl, Guitar Town and Copperhead Road to name a few. The band was in fine form and clearly were enjoying themselves as was Steve. He was in good voice throughout. I was glad he kept the political rants to minimum. Steve played a solid 2hrs A positive word for the Mastersons (his band members Chris and Eleanor) dueted for an opening 30 minute set. I enjoyed it very much and they received a good and well-deserved reception from the audience. All in all and excellent evening. I sat beside some nice quiet people who did not chatter throughout the show. Good to sit beside people who are there to here the band.
First time seeing Steve Earle in concert, but not my last! His talent for story telling is fantastic, and him & his musicians are soooo versatile and amazing. The Mastersons are now a part of my favorites, Chris' multiple guitar changes and her VOICE, not to forget her fiddle playing, but Eleanors voice is big and lovely! Great music, only one complaint....too many drinkers!
Last time Steve played at the Casino (when it was still the Red Robinson Theatre) he played solo. That was a great show as well...but this time with full backing from The Dukes the show was simply amazing. Lots of songs from his latest blues album, plus a good sprinkling of older classics made for a great two hour set. Chris Masterson on guitar is a great, great player, and his wife, Eleanor Whitmore, is a versatile and extremely talented musician and singer. Steve also entertained with a number of humourous between song stories and comments.
With a mix of old songs & new the evening flew by in a relaxed but energetic buzz.
went to hear copperhead road and stayed for the entire awesome musical experience
