About

Sting is a 17-time Grammy-winning artist and a founding member of the pioneering new wave band The Police. Born in Wallsend, England, Gordon Sumner, a.k.a. Sting, became one of the best-selling artists of all-time as the bassist and frontman of The Police. The band released five studio albums and six Top 10 singles, including the Sting-penned No. 1 hit “Every Breath You Take,” before disbanding in 1986. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003, and their 2008 reunion tour was the third highest-grossing tour of the ’00s. Since releasing his 1985 solo debut The Dream of the Blue Turtles, Sting has been recognized with a British CBE and an Emmy, featured at the Kennedy Center Honors and inducted to the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He has also received four Oscar nominations, and his 2014 Broadway musical The Last Ship, which was inspired by his childhood and featured music and lyrics by Sting, was nominated for two Tony Awards. A constant experimenter of genres including jazz, pop, classical and world music, Sting won the Grammy for Best Reggae Album in 2019 with Shaggy for their 2018 collaborative album 44/876.

    Enjoyed every moment!

    by Mikey795 on 2023-10-06Rogers Arena - Vancouver

The concert opened with Sting’s son, Joe Sumner, who I never really heard of before… but, anyone who who attended knows his name now for sure. In summary, his performance was A+, and I ordered his new album this week. If the live performance was anything to go by, I’m anticipating a great album from Joe. On the other hand… Sting was outstanding. An acquaintance of mine said he attended a Sting concert several years ago and was thoroughly disappointed. I can’t imagine who he went to see, because all I saw was brilliance. The variety of music and Sting’s mastery of vocals, bass, and guitar in a live setting is something I will never forget.

    One of a kind

by Nathan on 2023-10-04Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Just as chris and his band left, the real thing stepped in. Chatty, funny, charming and confident,in both voice and manners,it was a delight all through. The vocals around him were superb, the lady especially (heavy clouds,no rain) and the ending song (fragile) was heartbreaking.

    Amazing experience, reliving my adolescence

by Global Goat on 2023-10-04Rogers Arena - Vancouver

This was an amazing experience: listening to Sting himself and watching him on stage after all these years! I brought my 19-yo son along and it was great to share the wonderful music and showmanship with him. Not to mention turning back into an adolescent myself :) His band and vocalists are also amazing.

    I LIKED MOST OF IT

by Spanky on 2023-10-03Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Unlike many of the aged musicians sting is still in good form physically and and can perform up to reasonable standard just for a shorter time. I really enjoyed Howard Jone's energy, music and his excellent decision to have Nick Beggs to be his long time bass player and also to play the masterful Too Shy. I enjoyed all the bands although Berlin was little out of my favs list I still appreciated them bringing me back in time. The playing, song selection, sound, weather and crowd were great. Now the NSM the name of the tour being "My Songs"should have alerted me to me to Sting's arrogance and disrespectfulness to his fans was part of the show. Admittedly I'vev never listened to much of Sting's solo material or our watched any interviews with him. I have the Police on vinyl from when it was initially released. I was appalled at him telling a fan after asking for audience feedback that he's got socks older than her/him/it and that he's got a little house ...well really a castle a mile from Stonehenge and to drop in for Tea but oh right he won't be there because he'll be on tour.

Glad to have had the opportunity to enjoy this once in a lifetime experience. The man has not lost his talents! Plus still sporting 6 pack abs at his age & the energetic performance was unforgettable. Amazing singer & his son was just as amazing!
