    Don't Waste Your Time

by HeatherandLeo on 2013-02-28Hamilton Place Theatre - Hamilton

I was very unhappy with the show. My daughter was most interested in the Doodlebops and they were on the stage for such a short time. Strawberry Shortcake was boring. Orange spoke as though she had marbles in her mouth and even my 5-year old daughter told me she thought she spoke funny. I definitely would not bother with this show again.

Strawberry Shortcake & The Doodlebops was boring!

by Leeza118 on 2013-02-25Hamilton Place Theatre - Hamilton

The kids were bored! There wasn't anything that was really exciting to get them interested or keep their attention. We were unimpressed and disappointed after waiting in anticipation for Strawberry, her friends and the Doodlebops, normally kids talk about it for days, this time they were asking when it would be time to go home and I don't blame them

Save your $ for something else

by Yup6 on 2013-02-25Hamilton Place Theatre - Hamilton

The decision to have the performance begin at 1:00 was not ideal. Since this show was geared towards 2-5 year olds who may still nap, generally in the afternoon, 1:00 did not seem ideal. By around 2:00, many children were restless, at one point we could not hear the characters speaking due to the crying and young ones becoming agitated. We have been to several live stage performances with my young daughter and this was the first time I experienced this. The set and backdrop were borrowing, lacked effort, and seemed very low budget. The plot of the story was fine but suddenly ended. In fact, I was fully expecting the curtain to open again with the characters in their rock star fashions designed by Raspberry and fancy hairdo's by Lemon as per the plot. But.... It was over.... Done.... Finished. Not as bad as Max and Ruby but definitely not the best children's performance we've seen. Sorry, I love Strawberry Shortcakse and even found my dolls from when I was young. This just wasn't fantastic!

    Disappointing Concert

by IFamily on 2013-02-25Hamilton Place Theatre - Hamilton

My children - 2 and 4 - were THRILLED to see the Doodlebops in concert. We recognized that they were the 'opening' act, but quite honestly 5 minutes of music just wasn't enough! Strawberry shortcake was ok, but less story and more songs would have definitely increased our rating. Both my children lost interest after the intermission. We love kids concerts, but this one I wish I would have passed on.

    Somewhat disappointing

by Nanny48 on 2013-02-25Hamilton Place Theatre - Hamilton

I took my two Grand Daughter's to see the show and they did enjoy it however I found it to be an extremely short performance. The show opened up at 1pm with the Doodlebops and they performed for about 15 minutes then the Strawberry Shortcake group came our right away and performed for 15 minutes then announced they were taking a short break. Parents in the audiences were shocked that they were taking a break after such a short time but figured it may be on account the kids are small and may need bathroom breaks. The short break was about 1/2 an hour. Once Strawberry Shortcake returned to the stage, they performed for about another 1/2 hour and that was it. The show was over. There was no real closure. Parents everywhere were looking at each other asking "is that it" "it's over". We had to ask the Matradee if it was indeed over? Wow! No value for the money spent in my opinion. I don't think I would attend another performace.

This show was painful. The characters were not "cute" as I remember them from the '80's but looked tarty, Their voices were so shrill when they spoke or sang in unison, that my ears were zinging. The Doodlebops only performed for a few songs. Very disappointing show. Would not recommend it. I really didn't have any kind of special high hopes for this show. I mean, it's a show for children. It was still terrible.
