    Summertime Blues

by HelenV on 2017-07-31Kelso Beach Park - OWEN SOUND

Acts both Friday and Saturday night were great. Friday especially! Too bad about the weather, but the venue seemed ill-prepared/disorganized as well besides the weather. Did their best there. Rules only applied by some security. Our "seats" were not actually there, had to exchange tickets at the venue, for example. Too bad, could be a good venue.

    Summertime Blues Bust!!!

by Chardaneh on 2017-06-29Kelso Beach Park - OWEN SOUND

The fact that Steppenwolf cancelled and two virtually unknown acts were added to the bill with no offer of refund from Ticketmaster or the Organizers was totally unacceptable. The only reason for us attending this event was to see Steppenwolf, Teenage Head (which I virtually missed) and The Sheepdogs (last band) which forced us to sit through 2 of 3 bands we didn't want to see, with no in/out privileges to the venue. Teenage Head was scheduled (on line and confirmed with on site staff) to be the second act hitting the stage at 6 p.m. They were forced (I was told) to take the stage as the opening act at 5 p.m. and we (and half the arriving Teenage Head fans from across the province) missed the majority, if not all of the Teenage Head set. The organizer’s change of the scheduled acts caused a major concern not only for us, but all Teenage Head fans. The change of venue from large stage to the small band shell sucked with no advance notification to reserved ticket holders. Organizers were not prepared to offer adequate seating to patrons that had already reserved seating (costing over $100 a seat). Lastly, climbing the rock formation that were now make shift seats was almost impossible, especially climbing to get to the beer tent or access to the washroom facilities and food trucks. I believe we all should receive a full refund!!! I won't be back next year!!!

    Venue was brutal

by Arlene4 on 2017-06-26Kelso Beach Park - OWEN SOUND

Music was fantastic! Venue was horrible! Music started before they opened gates. Ground was treacherous. Our seats didn't exist. Told to sit anywhere. Then they tried to kick us out of our seats. Paid over $100. per ticket for reserved seats and they didn't exist! Mass chaos!

    Amazing unforgettable entertainment!

by Ivyjade on 2017-06-26Kelso Beach Park - OWEN SOUND

The entertainment was amazing, loved loved, loved it! ..The crew did an amazing job getting the flooded stage area prepped for the night..The downfall is the seating arrangements, not fair to the volunteers working alone who have to ask people to move because they're not in the right seat and giving the volunteer a hard time..the people who pay for these seats shouldn't have to deal with people mouthing off or refusing to move from a seat they didn't pay for! The cost of tickets are not cheap!

    Blues show was awsome!

by Robbierox on 2017-06-26Kelso Beach Park - OWEN SOUND

Music was excellent. Seating arrangement was adjusted because of weather and some rows sold were not present and not a single chair was labeled (way confusing for many many attendees). Result: many disagreements about who deserved the seat! Even if every tenth seat was labeled A-10, A-20 people could count and find the proper seat as per their ticket. I understand weather played a big part in the seating fiasco but even masking tape labels would have avoided a lot of the confusion. Ask any one of the harried ushers.

    Summertime Blues 2017

by Anonymous on 2017-06-26Kelso Beach Park - OWEN SOUND

Tickets sold and not enough seating for those of us who paid extra to have seats, they were letting people sit in any set they wanted, no numbered sets. The seating was plastic chairs sinking in a bed of mud tied together. Being let into the event over an hour late was not acceptable either, but the bands still when on at 5 p.m. We had to leave early because sitting in those chairs and trying to stabilise yourself from sinking in the mud was awful! Never again!

    George Rocked the Sound!!

by Chardaneh on 2016-06-28Kelso Beach Park - OWEN SOUND

Edgar Winter was awesome, April Wine kicked ass but George lit up the stage with an excellent show. The staff at the Owen sound festival were great and camping across the street was not only convenient, but a blast!!!

Edgar Winter, April Wine and George Thorogood & The Destroyers were all very good! But I have always followed Edgar Winter and may be more biased toward him! lol It was a great night, weather was beautiful and the people were great all around!
