    Not just Gospel music

    We were first-timers in Nashville and wanted to experience the Grand Ole Opry... the only concert that fit into our schedule was the Sunday Gospel... we thought we would hear some more great music. However, it was an odd service / ceremony complete with a Pastor - who gave a sermon, 4 military personnel marching down the aisle with 2 flags and 2 rifles! Making the audience stand up and sing Star Spangled Banner and then more speeches commemorating someone who had passed away... we were sitting in the pews for more than 20 mins. and we still had not heard any music. So we left and gave our tickets to someone who might enjoy it more. Sad that we didn't get a chance to hear any gospel, but felt this service was not what we had signed up for! Beware it's not just music!

    I love the Grand Ole Opry. It is such a great place to enjoy Nashville. The Sunday service was so refreshing after the busy CMA Fan Fest. I loved the variety of the service and the mixture of music, testimonials and honouring of long time musicians.
