Tiesto is a huge name in electronic dance music. In 2013 the 25-year-od Dutch DJ and record producer became the youngest winner of DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs Legend Award. Indeed, Tiesto's fans would call his live concerts "legendary". The Kaleidoscope World Tour sold more than one million tickets across six continents, making it one of 2010's top grossing acts complete with nominations for two Billboard Touring Awards. The tour was in support of Tiesto's 2009 album Kaleidoscope, a slightly experimental affair that went beyond trance to explore other genres of electronic music, including electro house. Following his epic 15-month stint on the road, Tiesto released several mix compilations from his successful Club Life series while hard at work on another studio album with Universal Music Group.
Born Tijs Michiel Verwest, Tiësto became the foremost trance DJ in the early 2000s with revered DJ mixes and the remix hit of Delerium’s “Silence” featuring Sarah McLachlan. He went on to find critical acclaim with his third studio album Elements of Life, which topped the Billboard Top Electronics Albums chart in 2007 and garnered his first Grammy nomination.
