    Too Much Pation

by TangoFan on 2012-02-22Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I wish there were more tango and less "pation". In terms of music choice, there were a bit too many strident tunes, apparently from contemporary composers, while I would like there were more classical tangos from the past. Choreography was overloaded with "ankle flirting". Costumes were quite all right for a high school art class, but pretty modest for a show of this caliber. At list the caliber it was supposed to be. The vocal items were well chosen in terms of tunes and may be lyrics (sorry, do not understand any Spanish). I liked the timbre of the voice of the singer. But her performance was not very professional The show in general needs more polishing.

Orchestra excellent , singer pretty and good but i'd rather to see more dancing than singing , some of dancers are very skilled but there were no passion .

    world class peforming

by flukesplashy on 2012-02-20Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I tried to translate into english a personal quote about Tango. Tango is a sad feeling danceable at the same time, it is a unique gender that we had the chance of look at.

    Tango Pasion, What a Disappointment

by Milongaci on 2012-02-20Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

The Tango Pasion show turned out to be quite disappointing, since we saw much better tango shows in Toronto in the past. Also, technically and esthetically, a 2-3 of the dancers were really poor and unappealing. The best part of the show was the accompanying music and the singer, who are really good. However, overall I would have preferred to go to a milonga last Saturday and dance, rather than watching Tango Pasion. Thanks.

    Passion for Tango!

by tdotinthetdot on 2012-02-20Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Great music, great ensemble. My grandmother is from Buenos Aires and we went to this together. She remembered some of the songs from her time there.

    tango passion was fantastic !

by spanishmusiclover on 2012-02-20Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I would highly recommend this show. The dancing was incredible and having sat very close to the stage allowed us to see the intricacies of the footwork invloved in this ever growing popular dance. Special kudos to the older male dancer. It was incredible how he was able to keep up with the younger ones. The musicians delivered an amazing performance; they created the ambiance with their flawless and moving interpretations of the rhythm of the tangos they played. The only disappointment with the evening however, was the singer. Albeit a beautiful woman, she had an average voice but her pitch was flat. She was dressed beautifully, had a wonderful stage presencebut it was ruined by her inability to carry the tunes she sang. I would see this show again providded that they change the singer.

    Simply amazing

by LaLuna on 2012-02-20Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

The event was simply amazing. Captivating music and singing, and simply beautiful dancing. The post event Milonga was a lovely gesture, and the best part was when the dancers joined everyone else on the dance floor. They were so modest and down-to-earth!
