    Backyardigans was worth the money

by Scoobyrules177 on 2012-02-22Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

We took our 2 and 4 year old to see the Backyardigans and they loved it. They were dancing and signing and having so much fun. The show was very good, I really enjoyed it as well. Would go again.

We enjoyed the show , but the only thing I was disappointed in ,was it would have been nice if the characters to stay behind and give the kids a hug and let the parents get a picture with the group.

    Kids loved it!

by PGShannie1 on 2012-01-26Vanier Hall - Prince George

I have never watched backyardigans before, but itwas immediately obvious that both my little grandsons had. The five year old knew everything about them, played along with the interactive program and danced his little heart out at the finale. The two year old copied his brother, but was mesmerized on his own watching the shenanigans. They had a great time and I had fun observing them!!

Not worth the money! Poor sound, kids were bored. Should have stayed home and watched the TV show.

    Backyardigans rock

by cyrilT on 2012-01-23Vanier Hall - Prince George

My grandkids (4 and almost 3) were visibly thrilled at the outset. It was well done and the voices sounded as if they were the origianl TV characters. It was interactive and fun throughout. I assume that it didn't take a highly sophisticated cast (read expensive) especially since it was canned voices. So, what a thrill it would have been for the producers to expect the cast to go down and join the audience afterwards for pictures etc. Or, to have one or two cast members bounce around the auditorium prior to the start of the show for pics etc.

    I could have stayed home

by me123 on 2012-01-23Vanier Hall - Prince George

I was quite dissapointed in the Backyardigans Live show. My 3 and 7 year olds, who both love the show were ready to leave by intermission. We stayed until about halfway through the 2nd half of the show, but did end up leaving early. The show was mostly pre-recorded and was just not as engaging as it could be. I attended the Big Comfy Couch quite a few years back and loved it, so my expectations with the Backyardigans were set a bit higher since the show seems to have a bigger budget than BCC would have had. Many people did seem to enjoy the show, but at $30 per person after all the different fees, I wish I would have saved my money. I would not have been so dissapointed if my kids had enjoyed it more, but it seems even they were hoping for more.

    Had higher expectations

by Munchkin35 on 2012-01-23Vanier Hall - Prince George

Thought the show was OK. A little too long and of course, the merchandise was overpriced. Some parts were a little slow and didn't hold kid's attention very well. The venue didn't allow food or drink, not a good choice of venue for little kids.
