by korvics on 2013-12-20Winter Garden Theater - TorontoI got a chance to see The Bad Plus in Toronto on December 14. They played songs from Never Stop, Made Possible as well as their upcoming album. If you never heard The Bad Plus you have got to give them a try. Their Jazz is incredibly rich, yet has a very strong rhythm and direction. Ethan Iverson is absolutely incredible on the piano and watching Dave King on drums is simply mesmerizing. Ethan's base is like a moderator between the Iverson's and King's magic, and his sense of humor makes for an excellent performance. It's a jazz like you've never heard it before. It's modern, its fun to listen to, its beautiful.
