Not sure if it was the outrageously originally priced tickets, bad promo or just the fact its an aging rock n roll band with a past their prime (and willing to spend that much on a show) fan base, but a larger crowd wouldve been nice to see. The opening band seemed very out of place and uncomfortable trying to connect with an uninterested crowd. Facilities were top notch. Sound was crisp and drink prices were not too bad!
The Cult is always amazing. We see them every time they come. Do yourself a favor and go see The Cult.
wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, dang, that was frickin' awesome!!!!!! It only took me like 40 years to see these guys in concert, but wow, totally worth it!!! I love the band, the music, and now the stage presence. Head exploding evening. Beyond amazing!!! Too bad it looked like an old folks home in the audience, but hey, everyone there was in the mood to rock out! Love Removal Machine!!!!
The cult put on a great show. Ian's voice isn't what it used to be but it was nice to see him in person. Of all the concerts I've been to I have never seen the cliche singer jump off a basd stand until his concert. Way to fuck 60 Ian!
The Cult sounded great and tight. Played a lot of thier hits from thier 3 biggest albums Sonic Temple, Electric and Love; plus 2 new songs from thier new album coming in Oct. They played for about 1:30 mins. Ian vocals sounded great and Billyâs guitar playing never disappoints. Such an underrated band that keeps getting better w age :)
It was amazing,The guitar player was incredible and what a tight band !! Ian was spot on with his vocals and very entertaining.
Loved it. Billy rocked the axe as always and Ian sounded great and had youthful energy. Being right up front was the cherry on top. Only wish is that they played something from the Dreamtime album.
Every song was a hit in my opinion. Sound man figured shit out halfway through. Feedback multiple times. If it wasnât for the sound man it would have been 5/5
Have seen many iconic acts in concert, Queen, the Stones, Boston, Doobie Brothers, CSNY, Guns n Roses, Judas Priest, and Garth Brooks... to name just a few and yes, I have a varied music interest but... Ive followed the Cult since they first hit the International scene in the mid 80's. Saw them live in mid 90's and again, this past week, at the Burt in Winnipeg, as the last stop in Canada on their recent tour! OMG, Ian Astbury, was freekin' incredible. The Burton Cummings Theatre, which is a 120 yr. old venue that maxs out at 1600 bums in seats... was packed and from start to finish the show was insane. Astbury was SO engaging with the crowd, and, despite his penchance for still trying to be 30 yrs. old - e.g. jumping off a double-stacked bass amp on stage, and tweaking a ligament in the process, he got up and finished the show stronger than ever. The music was wide/varied and definitely representative of the their transition through the years - punk, grundge, rock, alternative etc... and it had everyone on their feet, singing or moving to the music - from start to finish. Highly Recommended: 5/5 stars
