    Great performance/quiet audience!

by IRandy62 on 2024-03-15The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

It’s a shame that the crowd seemed so quiet - the Dandy’s (and their opening act) put on a great show. The set list, the performances, the lighting and sound were all top-notch. Shame the crowd seemed so unwilling to rock out!

    First time seeing them

by IK on 2024-03-15The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Overall a good show. They aren't the most exciting band I've seen live, but overall it was a good experience. The Danforth Music Hall is always a great venue.

    The Dandy Warhols in Toronto

by C&C on 2024-03-15The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

The Dandy Warhols played a very heavy set. I think people were expecting the band to play more of their older music like "Everyday Should be a Holiday"and "If Were The Last Junkie.."which would have gotten the crowd excited similar to the song like "Bohemian Like You"which they actually played. The crowd started leaving before the band finished (80 mins) and the poor sound mixing didn't help.

Grateful to finally see the Dandy Warhols

by Alan-M on 2024-03-14Le Studio TD - Montréal

I finally, at long last, got a chance to attend a Dandy Warhols concert. They played some of their big hits, of course, the ones that I know all the words to! I love how the whole vibe of the crowd changed with one note - the opening note for their song Godless. The crowd recognized that note and knew what song was coming within about one second!

Great show at the Commodore Ballroom. The drinks were pricey but the ticket prices were good.

    Dandys Still Rule with Cool

    by Music_Junkie on 2019-12-08Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

The fact that the Dandy Warhols are still unified after 30 years is notable and speaks to how mature and cool they are both individually and as a band. Their performance at the Commodore was amazing. Solid, groovy beats and bass lines, huge effects on both vocals and by guitarist Peter Holmstrom. In my opinion, the massive tones and effect-drenched lead lines he nailed were the highlight for me. This band do not play it safe, they have the A+ material to fill the set with non-stop groovers and they even played us a Christmas song (Little Drummer Boy) that was 100% consistent with their dope sound. Love these guys! They are better than ever!!

Twenty Five Years and Recognition as an Alternative Band

by StealthWingman on 2019-12-07Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

The Dandy Warholes have played a quarter of a century and yet have not been recognized commercially as a mainstream band. This band follows in the footsteps of The Ramones and R.E.M. that has been labeled as an alternative band and yet is definitely an important part of mainstream history of rock and roll music. What was evident at The Commodore was that the fans are the pulse of where a band is in reality especially in a digital world where live performances are the expression of where any band has truly influenced the passion and expression of music in the purest form!

    Very disappointed

by Maurena on 2019-12-07Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

The sound was poor. Hard to hear Courtney Taylor-Taylor's voice. The band has always used electronic effects but it was drastically over done. Well known songs were so over processed that I barely recognized them. I have seen them twice before where they were amazing. The Dec 4th show was a huge disappointment. I'll never go see them live again. Thank goodness for old cds and records

    Dandy Warhols

    by timster22 on 2016-12-09Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

The lead singer was completely out of it, so stoned he couldn't sing or talk. The drummer did the singing and the band carried the show

    Dandy Worhols were great!

by OldGringo on 2016-09-22Marquee Beer Market & Stage - Calgary

After how many years? At least 20, the Dandy Warhols are still enjoying playing together. That simple sense of fun made their show at the Marquee Beer Market a most excellent night out. The band mixed in the newer stuff with the old faves easily and did just enough re-invention of their classics to keep everything fresh. There was even a brief attempt at an acoustic cover of Lynard Synard's Free Bird (preparing for a future gig in Birminigham, Alabama according to lead singer/guitarist Courtney Taylor-Taylor. That sort of cavalier attitude they have about the sound mix in their recordings came through in their live performance making it very intimate and enjoyable. Speaking of intimate, the Marquee Beer Market was an excellent venue for these guys and is my new favorite concert venue in Calgary!
