THE TEMPER TRAP IN CONCERT:

Indie darlings the Temper Trap quickly shot to fame in 2008 with their anthemic track "Sweet Disposition", and they haven't slowed down since. The Australian group plays bright, guitar-driven rock with a fervor and energy that always get the crowd pumped up during their live shows. Whether they're performing the track that launched their career or tearing through songs from their 2012 self-titled debut, the Temper Trap always has ticket buyers singing and clapping along on their must-see tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Hailing from Down Under, the Temper Trap formed in 2005 when the band members met while working at a Melbourne clothing store. The five-piece played cut their teeth playing local shows, and they quickly attracted attention from blogs and magazines with their electrifying performances. They released their first self-titled EP in 2006 but truly took off in 2008 with their platinum-selling debut Conditions, which featured the Top 20 hit "Sweet Disposition". They continued their mainstream success with their self-titled sophomore LP, which topped the charts in Australia and earned Best Rock Album at the 2012 ARIA Awards. Since then they've opened for major players like Coldplay and the Rolling Stones, appeared at world-renowned festivals like Coachella and Reading and Leeds, and sold out popular venues across the globe. Fantastic Band and good venue, would go again

by garytrinder on 2012-06-25Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

My wife and I took our 12 year old son to this, it was his first outside gig. Got there early and had a choice of where to stand (and sit). The band were FANTASTIC I would definately see them again. We all enjoyed the new album and some tracks from the previous album, including the Drum Song - this is fantastic live! The venue was small, which was a good thing. It was like watching a band at the local park we felt very close the band and could see all the on stage action. Got some very good pictures. Good acoustics and music never seemed too loud. Ammenities were very good, plenty of porta loo's, which were still clean when I used them. Might be worth using the bathrooms at the pavilion before you go in if you're a girl. Food was good and reasonably priced and so was the drink. $2 for a bottle of water is not bad. $10 for a chicken, rice and vegatable meal. Plenty of trash cans and security staff were polite and effective. Managed to get parking close by and this was $10 for the whole day (including evening) so we did the Aquarium whilst we were there first as this was an evening gig. Summary - Would recommend the band and the site.

Since we were allowed to bring in personal water bottles it would have been nice to have a water fountain for guests to access. I ended up having to buy water anyways, because there was no where for me to get water. Otherwise the Temper Trap were as amazing as ever! Second time I've seen them in Vancouver and they did not disappoint.

Temper Trap is better live than on record, that's the sign of a good performing band!

    meh.

I've been a HUGE The Temper Trap fan since I first heard Sweet Disposition in the (500) Days of Summer Soundtrack and I was thrilled to see them live. The sound was good, they got all the songs right but no connection whatsoever with the crowd, they seemed annoyed and that they were only playing because they needed to "practice" the new songs. And after all that, they only played for less than an hour, are you kidding me? Disappointed.

Still thinking about them a week later...

by fabavg on 2012-04-02The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

I am a recent fan and this was the first time I have seen them live. The Temper Trap played a number of songs from their upcoming album like "Need your love", mixed in with classics like "Love Lost", "Science of Fear" and of course "Sweet Disposition". The highlight for me was the "Drum Song". Wow! These guys were amazing live, Dougy's vocals rock. Can't wait to see them again.

If they played more than 10 songs which was the equivalent of 50mins. I would have had a much better time, they went on and then the lights came on. It was if I was listening to the preview of songs on iTunes. Not worth $30 I don't like festival concerts

The sound was good, the songs were amazing but the band lacked enthusiasm and connection with the public and they only played for less than an hour..or at least felt like it.

    fun concert

by Stargazergirl on 2012-03-27The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

would definitely see Temper Trap again, as long as it was in a small-ish venue. The Phoenix was perfect for this style of band. Lots of audience engagement.
