    A nostalgic and thrilling

by Thairsha on 2018-05-17The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

This was incredible and an unforgettable experience. The acting was sensational and I would definitely go see this again if I was in Chicago. The only thing that left me puzzled was the jitterbug scene - but other than that, followed the storyline to a T!

So much fun. They did a wonderful job. Having the school children from the local school was a great idea.

Everything about this show was well done. The use of stage lighting, the visual effects and the talented actors all worked together beautifully for an amazing performance.

    TOTO stole the show

by Duchess1 on 2011-01-07Interior Savings Centre - Kamloops

Dorothy's voice was superb, and her portrayl was very good. Also loved the authenticity of the Lion, tin Man and scarecrow. OZ was much like I remembered, but some scenes appeared to not be quite in sync. Having taken my grandson, and being nervous of his reaction (he is just under 2), we were amazed that he stayed awake and watched the whole performance. Also glad to hear they used some local "munchkins". That is a great idea....maygive a good start to a talented local. We were sitting too close to the stage, and missed a few beginning scenes, as the curtains hid our side of the stage. {Perhaps that should have beeen checked out before the live performance. Luckily, the scene quite quickly moved forward, and we really missed nothing, but it was a little confusing when we could hear the words, but not see the action. Bottom line; Pretty Good. glad I saw it.

Wizard of Oz: Good show, Poor Venue

by FamilyGuy2011 on 2011-01-07Interior Savings Centre - Kamloops

The play itself was was well done with excellent performers, sets, etc. I do however feel that having this play in a hockey arena was a horrendous error. Very limited sight lines if you sit on the sidelines. Watch your seating in relation to the stage location. We moved during the intermission just so we could see the whole stage. Even though it was a greater distance away, the end section of the arena allowed us a better view. Binoculars would help.

Excellent performance. I wish it was done in the Sagebrush instead for a more theatre atmosphere but the performance itself was fabulous.

The stage was moved further toward the front of the facility, giving us a terrible view for the "best seats" we purchased. We ended up having to move, luckily the event was poorly attended so there were alternate seats available to us. We ended up in the balcony above the ladies washrooms and the fast food area, which from time to time, was terribly noisy. I feel the event was poorly promoted, thus poorly attended, making Kamloops look like a bunch of schmucks. Also, the venue as a whole is terrible, lacking curtains around the back rows, to hide all the concourse lights and hopefully muffle some of the noise. On a positive, We are lovers of any kind of live theater, and very much enjoyed the production.
