5-Star Performance!
by Immortalrain on 2012-06-18Arie Crown Theater - ChicagoI saw Madea Gets A Job on May 25th at the Arie Crown Theatre in Chicago. It was the first time I'd ever seen a Madea play, and I was not disappointed. The characters were hilarious from the start. The intertwined characters and their angles were filled with stories anyone could relate to. In the end they each had a powerful message, and that's what I love about Tyler Perry's work. There's always an important and powerful message / lesson in the end. I loved the cast and their portrayal of the characters. Everything was sheer perfection in that aspect. The entire show from beginning to end was laugh out loud funny. There was even a few times where Tyler Perry had to step out of character (while appearing as Madea) just to have a laugh or even improvise a bit and it didn't hurt the overall production at all. It was just wonderful! I would love to see this show again. It was an amazing experience and the mini concert at the end was an outstanding performance from each other actors. You really get a chance to hear their different vocal ranges and techniques and it was just truly amazing and just added to the overall experience. There is no reason why this show could possibly be rated lower than 5 stars.
