    Solid.

by Miiike on 2012-05-06Lee's Palace - Toronto, Ont

As far as sheer energy and performance goes they were out of this world great. WWPJ were so high energy while playing, they simply rocked. They sound even better live then they do on CD. Quiet Little Voices was one of the best live songs I ever witnessed. I couldn't help but be mildly offended that they pretty much ignored the sold out Lee's Palace crowd the entire evening, and didn't come out for an encore while the crowd was going nuts. I know it's cheesy but the band returning for the pre-staged encore clap is a type of two way appreciation, and I felt it was a bit of a dis that they just ignored it. It was kind of like they were playing and the crowd just happened to be there. There's no denying it, this band is one of the tightest, rockingest bands out there right now, just thought they could play to the crowd of loyal fans a little more. 3.5/5.

    Energy beyond belief

by dfcson on 2012-05-03Lee's Palace - Toronto

Moody, powerful, they're a band that you both want to mildly fear and coddle. The Horseshoe show was infinitely better 2 years ago, but I'll still take these guys over 90% of the bands that roll through town. Not much interaction with the crowd which always throws me a little (Especially to their first bona fide sold out show in TO) but the new album is much better live than on CD. This is the future of alt rock, so get in on WWPJ before they become hipster darlings!

    AMAZING show by the Jetpacks

by lindsayshea on 2010-07-04The Horseshoe Tavern - Toronto

The show itself was incredible! As good as they sound on their albums, they're even better live. Not too much chit chat between songs, just enough to enjoy the charming Scottish accent. But it took 45 min after the opening act before they went on, and their set was just under an hour with NO encore! Seriously, no encore?! The Horseshoe needs better ventilation, but otherwise a fantastic night!

We Were Promised Jetpacks were great

by jenathan on 2010-03-02BILTMORE CABARET - VANCOUVER

The band had strong powerful songs. There were some amazing anthems in their set. Loved them. I was actually there to see The Lonely Forest, and they DID not disappoint. There were my favorite band all night. Having said that, Bear Hands were also amazing. All around GREAT night.

I think I died last night...

I went for We Were Promised Jetpacks, and they were awesome, sounded even better in person than on the album, and they were into it. I also really enjoyed both opening acts though, Bear Hands and Lonely Forest both sounded great.
