The play was great overall, excellent dancing and singing. The female lead has an amazing voice. We all had some trouble understanding the female group songs, the male group was a lot clearer.

by holmesey on 2014-05-20Fisher Theatre - DetroitWe are not old people! 55, 47 and 13 years old. We had a very difficult time, and were all frustrated. We could not hear the voices of the great actors. Awesome play but we could not hear them in the balcony. Loved the performance , but came away all feeling disappointed with the sound and therefore the overall peformance lacked a 100% satisfaction rating.

My eleven year old is a huge fan, she knows every word to all the songs in the production and has watched the movie multiple times. I had to bring her to see it!! We were both extremely impressed!!!! great seats, had a amazing time, laughed, cryed, sang, the works!! And of course bought the t shirts!!

Amazing cast with wonderful voices. Keep in mind, I am not by any means an expert on broadway shows but this was GREAT!

I liked how Spanish was incorporated into the song lyrics, but switching between languages during dialogue was distracting. Furthermore, many important lines of dialogue were delivered in Spanish which completely killed their impact for me. If I hadn't been so familiar with the play, I would have had no idea what was going on half the time. If that had been the case, it would have received one or two stars. On the plus side, the pit orchestra was lively and the singing and dancing was definitely high caliber.
