WIDE MOUTH MASON IN CONCERT:
Canadian rockers Wide Mouth Mason rose to success in the mid-'90s with their bluesy guitar licks and the soulful croon of frontman Shawn Verreault. Nearly twenty 20 years later their authentic blues-rock sound has lost none of its potency, and neither have their live shows. The band's marathon sets feature extended jam sessions as they improvise on top of fan-favorites like "Midnight Rain" and "My Old Self", throwing in the occasional acoustic-only track to keep fans transfixed. BACKGROUND SHAPSHOT:
Wide Mouth Mason formed in Saskatchewan in 1995, taking their name from the jar of the same name. Despite its extremely limited pressing, their 1996 album debut Nazarene attracted the eye of label execs, leading to their self-titled major label debut on Warner Music Canada the following year. The album was a success, spawning hit singles like "This Mourning" and "Midnight Rain" and earning them a 1998 Juno nomination for Best New Group. The band continued to establish their unique hybrid of blues and pop in the '00s with Stew (2000), Rained Out Parade (2002), and Shot Down Satellites (2005). In 2010 they returned to the studio to record their first new material in five years, resulting in 2011's acclaimed No Bad Days. Back on the road, the band will treat ticket buyers to powerhouse sets of their pop/rock/blues fusion on a series of highly anticipated dates.
