    Hard-Charging and great venue

by BensonView on 2024-01-28Hollywood Theatre - Vancouver

Yukon Blond had the crowd going from the 1st song at the Hollywood. Great line-up of their old and new tunes and lots of facetime after the show with the band coming to the floor signing vinyl and sharing drinks. First time I've been in the Hollywood since the 2000's: fun venue (but expensive coat check). Good mixing and lighting.

I saw YB at a small venue in Calgary and it was a fantastic show. The band sounded great and created a really fun atmosphere!

    OK

It was alright. Nothing very special. Not that superior to other local bands in my opinion. Sound wasn't that good.

Great concert. Wished YB would have started earlier and played longer!

Great energy, great live band, the best venue. The only thing is they come on at 11:30pm after two openers... a bit late for me.

3rd time seeing Yukon Blonde- consistently good!!!

by Lillianroxton on 2011-10-16Lee's Palace - Toronto

This is my 3rd time seeing Yukon Blonde perform and I must state they are one band who is consistently good that never disappoint-- excellent stage presence, great vibe, fluid sound and sharp lyrics. The band played a varied collection of songs from "oldies" (first album) but goodies and new tracks from their latest EP. The glow sticks thrown into the crowd while seemed like a novel idea really didn't add much value to the show and I believe the band doesn't require such gimmicks to get the crowd pumped. The band mascot (Afro sporting vest wearing dude) also an addition not overly welcomed - however it was lee's palace and Saturday night and after enough drinks I'm sure many would have been entertained. Last, I look florward to seeing them play a slightly larger venue with even better sound capacity like The Opera House where the vocals can really take flight! See this band now before they inevitably get signed to a major label and sell out and their vibe change all together to appeal to the masses!

absolutely massive show at the Palomino

by pistolpetesampras on 2011-09-23Palomino - Calgary

These guys put on an awesome show a small basement club in Calgary called the Palomino. Definitely a great undiscovered talent out of Western Canada. My roomate Ian bought the vinyl copy of their latest LP, and it's great party music . The only downside is Ian keeps doing his stupid dance moves to their songs whenever he puts the LP on. My only complaint is too many hipsters in the audience. So many cardigans, horn rimmed glasses and pabst blue ribbons. It made me wanna barf.
