Then it was the men's turn, Canada only squeaked through the 1/4 final winning in overtime against Chile. In the semi, they met arch rivals USA and once again it was a thriller with the score tied at 19-19 and only seconds left on the clock before Canada scored. You could hear a huge "Whew ! " from the 20,000 fans. Then the Gold medal match vs Argentina who had beaten Canada in pool play. Once again it went to the wire as Argentina led 19-17 with less than a minute left. Suddenly Canada got possession and with 20,000 fans on their feet, Harry Jones, powered his way over with two defenders on his back to score the winning try as time ran out.
