Seats were high up but that was no problem but the sound was muffled, not sure if it was where we sat or sound system
I am a big Motown fan, so enjoyed the music. At first it was a a bit too fast paced and sound was off a bit. Actors were very good, especially Diana and young Man playing Michael Jackson.
This was our first time seeing a show on Broadway and I knew it would be songs my boyfriend and I would both enjoy! Everyone in the performance was on par and deserved the standing ovation at the end! I won't go into too much detail as I want you to enjoy it in person! They are touring and I hope everyone gets to enjoy the show as much as we did :)
This musical provides an entertaining history of Berry Gordy, the founder of Motown Records, and his relationship with various Motown artists from 1938 to 1983. The musical also provided a glimpse of the race relation in America during those years. The singing, dancing, and acting were very good. Although there were over 60 songs in the musical, most songs were shortened versions.
If you like good music, you will love Motown the Musical
Loved every moment. Want to go back. "Little Michael Jackson" stole the show!!!
A great musical, original script, over sixty unforgetable classic tunes, wonderful choreography, all enhanced by circus acting and magic!! You are completely entertained for two hours and forty minutes of superior singing. One particularly nice touch is the audience participation in the singing of Reach Out And Touch by "Dianna Ross". Not just a rendition of tunes, but a great recount of the birth of Motown and it's impact on music today.
One great song after another! The cast was brilliant. After a while I really thought I was watching Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson, Berry Gordy and the rest of them. So much fun!!
Incredible energy, exhilarating you are unable to sit still . The music is nostalgic and brings you right back to your childhood and growing up with the unique Motown sound. I sang at the top of my lungs during the whole show as well as all those around me. You can't help but feel energized and happy. It defenitely is a feel good show, you are unable to leave sad.Highly recommend the experience.
