NIGHT RIOTS IN CONCERT:
Cali alt rock outfit Night Riots has been steadily on the rise thanks to their adrenaline-filled live shows and unique blend of emo, indie rock, and post punk. In concert they make good on their name, delivering high-energy performances that always incite plenty of moving and shaking. Anthemic, danceable tracks like "Back to Your Love" and "Contagious" are even more fun live than they are on record, as frontman Travis Hawley electrifies the stage with his sartorial style and charismatic showmanship. Whether they're channeling '80s greats like The Cure or whipping up a punk frenzy to rival forebears like AFI, Night Riots always rock ticket buyers with a flair and energy that's all their own.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Night Riots was formed in the early '10s by a group of friends from Templeton, CA. The band used crowd funding site Indie Go Go to release their 2013 debut EP Young Lore, which they supported with performances up and down the West Coast. As word of mouth grew the band signed with Sumerian Records and released the 2014 single "Contagious". The track's video premiered on MTV, which helped push it to No. 24 on the Billboard's Alternative Songs chart. Night Riots followed up in 2015 with their sophomore EP Howl, another success that peaked at No. 17 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. In addition to touring with The Mowgli and embarking on their first headlining tour of the US in 2015, the band also performed the entire Vans Warped Tour 2015. As fans eagerly await their proper full-length debut album, Night Riots continue to whip up plenty of rowdy fun every time they take the stage.
I went to a Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness concert in Cincinnati and Atlas Genius and Night Riots opened for them. I was a fan of some of their music before, but after seeing them perform live I've been obsessed! I'm waiting to see them again and would definitely recommend.
