Tennessee Titans History

The Tennessee Titans franchise was founded in 1960 as the Houston Oilers. The organization has won more than 400 regular-season and postseason games, captured one conference championship, 11 division titles, clinched 25 playoff appearances, and appeared in one Super Bowl championship (Super Bowl XXXIV in 2000).

The Tennessee Titans’ biggest rivals are the Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Indianapolis Colts.

The Tennessee Titans played their first and only Super Bowl on January 30, 2000, against the St. Louis Rams. Unfortunately, the Titans were defeated (23-16) in a game that is considered by many to be an all-time classic. Super Bowl XXXIV is also famous for being referred to as the "Dot-Com Super Bowl" due to the heavy amount of dot-com ads.

    Music City Miracle

by Causefordiscontent on 2018-01-03Nissan Stadium - Nashville

The Titans-Jags game was so much fun! It was really cold out so a lot of folks left early (it appeared begrudgingly!). Great to see Tennessee hold onto their lead in a fun finish. I really liked the stadium as well (this was my first game there). Nice and close to downtown, and friendly staff.
