Well this play was not at all what I expected. The reviews I read prior to purchasing the tickets mostly said it was hilarious and people were constantly laughing. Was it funny? No, not really. Awkward and stupid, very much so. The only time me and my friend laughed was at the group of 50 year old women behind us ... maybe its because I'm 25 but I don't think things like saying the word "penis" are shocking or funny. And what actually upset me is that Christian Grey (who we would all expect to be hot was not) but the part that annoyed me is that what people found so funny is that his appearance was "disturbing" and "repulsive." Really? Did I just witness a group of people laugh their assess off at a dancing overweight man? I guess thats what the play was going for but still disappointing. This play seemed like high school students wrote and performed it. It was NOT worth the 60 bucks per ticket I spent.

Raunchy and hilarious. Excellent for a night out with the girls. No prudes allowed.
I went with a couple of girlfriends and totally enjoyed the play, hi!ghly recommended, first act went and my friend looked at me and said "it's intermission now? did it go that fast" so that tells you how much all enjoyed!
Very Funny, The actors made complete asses of them selves, but was extremely funny. The over acting really made it enjoyable. It was Raunchy but done in good taste also
Great Show! Laughed all the way through. Enjoyed every minute. Actors were hilarious and did an amazing job. So glad I went!
Absolutely fantastic! One of the funniest comedies I have ever seen. Would love to go and see this play again :) Hopefully there are two more coming!!
Funny. The actor playing Christian Grey was outstanding. Jose was very good too, there could have been a whole show of just Christian and Jose! The music was very good, nice to see the band on stage with the actors. This really was better than the book. However now quite as good as I expected it to be.
Not what we expected. It was more than we expected. We laughed from start to finish. I went with 2 girlfriends and we were all disappointed when it was over. It was very enjoyable. Would defiantly go see it again.
Fantastic show !! with an excellent cast. we brought our husbands with us and they laughed the entire show. Definitely recommend !!! no need to have read the book to enjoy it either.
Have seen dozens of musicals, from community theatre to Broadway and London, so was a little alarmed to see three musicians stage side (the pianist without sheet music) as the lights dimmed. There was no program offered to read about any of the show or it's cast, which was pretty unprofessional. The "overture" was also rather pointless as the sound system support was so weak all I could hear 10 rows back of front centre was the thud of muffled drums. Thus, it was a pleasant surprise when the actors began singing and it became readily apparent these were well-trained voices (... despite the lousy sound reinforcement which made discerning words exceptionally difficult...) with generally excellent acting abilities. All of the leads were in rather vulnerable roles, yet were able to (especially "Christian") pull off delivering clever lines and well-directed choreo, keeping the audience highly entertained and engaged. My favourite moment was when Christian was first revealed and a loud number of "oh no" gasps could be heard emanating from the mostly female audience around me. Too funny! He was brilliant though. Kudos to that! Would have given three and a half stars but not able on this system.
