Acclaimed Canadian actor and singer-songwriter Alexz Johnson is more than just a pretty face -- the ambitious young star is a skilled producer, charismatic performer, and world-class vocalist beloved for her delicate yet powerful pipes. Her acting career may have provided her breakthrough, but for Johnson it's always been about the music. Since making her studio debut in 2010 she's honed a unique sound somewhere between folk pop and world music, showcasing her exquisite voice on emotional songs like "Skin" and "Walking". A natural performer with a captivating stage presence, Johnson never fails to mesmerize with her intimate live shows on tour. 

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

British Columbia-born Alexzandra "Alexz" Johnson was an avid performer from an early age, singing for her extended family as early as age three and beginning formal vocal training four years later. Performances at school and community functions gave way to festivals and talent contests, and at age 11 she won a televised National Anthem Contest with her rendition of "O Canada". The performance attracted the attention of several talent agencies and kickstarted her professional acting career, leading to roles on Disney's So Weird and CTV's Instant Star. Instant Star was an especially well-suited project, combining her acting and musical abilities by allowing her to co-write the show's songs and perform on the soundtrack of all four seasons. After the show's cancellation in 2008 she devoted herself to songwriting, and in 2010 she released her debut album Voodoo. She followed up with three demo compilations -- The Basement Recordings I, II, and III -- which she produced with her brother. In 2014 Johnson dropped her highly anticipated sophomore album Let 'Em Eat Cake, receiving praise from critics before hitting the road on a North American tour.
