Calgary Flames® at the Scotiabank Saddledome
Home to the Calgary Flames®, the idea for the Scotiabank Saddledome was seeded when it became clear that two major events would be in need of a world-class arena -- the bid for the 1988 Olympic Winter Games and the arrival of an NHL® franchise. The Saddledome opened its doors on October 15, 1983. The arena became a star attraction during the 1988 Olympic Winter Games, hosting both the figure skating and hockey competitions. In the fall of 1994, the arena underwent renovations and one year later the new Scotiabank Saddledome was unveiled. The Calgary Flames® celebrated their first season at the arena during their home opener for the 1995-1996 season.
Today, Scotiabank Saddledome is considered Calgary's leader for exciting entertainment. The arena can seat more than 19,000 guests and hosts 150 events per year. Its great seating, fantastic cuisine and superior service make Scotiabank Saddledome the perfect choice for an unforgettable night out.

Calgary Flames® History
The Flames originated in Atlanta in 1972. After eight years, they relocated to Calgary in 1980, where they were greeted by a far more hockey-friendly fanbase. Thus began the battle of Alberta, an era where the Flames and the Edmonton Oilers to the north both fielded powerful lineups.
The Flames were vanguards in terms of bringing in foreign players, as Håkan Loob became one of the league's first European stars. Loob, Doug Gilmour, Joe Nieuwendyk, Mike Vernon, Lanny McDonald, and Al MacInnis were the stars behind the Flames' only Stanley Cup® Championship in 1989, gaining a measure of payback against the Montreal Canadiens in six games. Montreal had defeated the Flames in the Stanley Cup® Final three years earlier.
Despite a block on players from the USSR, the Flames had the foresight to draft Russian star Sergei Makarov in 1983. Makarov was among the first Russians to play in the NHL® when he joined the Flames in 1989-1990.
A weak Canadian dollar had the Flames on the ropes in 1999. Not being able to afford to keep their best players, management had to appeal to fans with season ticket drives. Despite the financial issues, the diminutive Theo Fleury and Jarome Iginla led the Flames throughout the '90s, bouncing in and out of the postseason with little long term success until 2004, when the Flames made another run at the Cup, only to lose to the Tampa Bay Lightning in seven games. The Flames have made it to the Playoffs 25 times in their 41 seasons. Calgary has two Presidents' Trophies to their credit, along with eight division championships.
Had an effortless and speedy process getting into the Flames game and the roughnecks games last week.
It was great fun because in our party, there are 2 flames fans and 2 LEAF fans. We are all family and we drive almost 4 hours to get to the game.
Perfect seats, Lots of Leaf fans. Great atmosphere.
Had great seat . the atmosphere was exciting .lots of good things to eat the only annoying thing was the lineup to bathrooms
OT with a Bruins win!! We bought 6 tickets to take our adult daughters and SIL’s. Great memories
It was easy to get in and had great seats. However it was a nightmare getting out, and it was a log jam to exit the building with people push and shoving to exit very unsafe. It was too noisy playing music non stop.
As a neutral I could appreciate the showmanship (the pyrotechnics and build up), the game was lacklustre and the atmosphere was comparable to a graveyard. The national anthem was sung by about 100 people and when the puck was dropped it was just silent. Coming from the UK and seeing how serious sports like football are taken back home it was a shock. If you enjoy this sport then amazing. But if You come from a culture of actual sport then don’t expect an atmosphere, feels like more of a social gathering.
I went to two games and they were amazing can’t wait for the next
Everything was perfect, there were very security services, very nice food and drinks.
Club seats section 117 row 3 seat 8&9 Great seats but no cup holders, kept getting in trouble for putting my drink on the stairs. But other than that it was great game
