Shumka's Nutcracker Tickets

Wonderful and diverse performance, highlighting the athleticism of Ukrainian dancing. Visually spectacular and artistically entertaining.

This is one of the best theatre productions I have ever seen. Every part of it was professionally done, sets and costumes, dancing and singing, children involved, the inclusion of other ethnic dances, I enjoyed it all immensely!

I expected to see ballet Nutcracker, no weird mix with Ukrainian dances. Ukrainian dances were great and would come to watch it separatly from Nutcracker show. In my opinion it was very tasteless.

Both halves were very good but I particularly enjoyed the second half which featured dances by various members of the Troup. It was wildly entertaining !

1st off, I’m prejudiced. One of the guest dancers is a close relative of mine But: outside of that, the whole performance was brilliant! You know that phrase “a feast for the eyes”? Well, it was all that. Just beautiful costuming, backdrops, singing, choreography.

Took a bunch of my family visiting from the States and they were enthralled! So well done!! Outstanding performance magnificent costumes and a familiar story told in a very interesting way. Can’t wait to see it again. This is a new Christmas tradition we have added. Unpretentious and affordable. Don’t miss this gem!

I was very disappointed in this year’s production of Shumka Nutcracker. This is because only one act was played in the screening for reasons explained by producers after the fact. I was hoping proceeds of ticket sales would be used for fundraising and maybe they are, but producers also used the platform to request donations at the end of the show.

Love the Shumka over the ballet. I liked the mix of dances. It was just amazing.

We have all been through so much. The dancers too, I imagine. We had 3 tickets to the Saturday night performance, and one of our party made considerable effort to travel the province to attend, in the freezing cold. We enjoyed it so much. We love how our own beloved Shumka team partners with other local groups and with dancers from Ukraine to bring us an amazing top-notch professional dance experience. We needed this so much, this year more than ever. We appreciate all the sacrifices made to pull off this show in Covid times. it was a wonderful part of our very quiet family Christmas celebration. Thank you.
