It was a very nostalgic feeling watching the show. They did a great job consolidating the movie into a musical.
Everything was amazing! Would definitely recommend to everyone
Monitors/cameras to provide a closer view of stage, would have improved the experience greatly. As it was, could not see faces of the actors...only make out figures on the stage. Sound quality was mediocre. One singer was exceptionally loud compared to the rest, beautiful voice, but sound quality did not do her voice justice. Have seen show in a theatre setting and I think this one was more suited to that rather than an arena setting given the fact that there were no monitors to provide a closer view of the stage. Too many secondary story lines woven into main story. Perhaps this was done to facilitate set changes, but it appeared to be a way to give the one singer more time to showcase her talents....unfortunately the sound quality was suboptimal when it came to her voice. The show was reminesent of a high school production.
The sound and lights were terrible. It was like a high school play. We couldn’t tell if it was voice over or someone on stage was talking. If there was screens like in concerts that would have been helpful. We left at intermission.
While the cast can certainly dance it appears their acting skills are poor, stilted and awkward. The first half of the show seemed entirely rushed and way too busy with too much happening on stage, too many set changes, and not enough quality acting. The casting was something akin to a high school play where everyone is the same age playing a widely different generation; hard to believe Baby's parents are in fact her parents when they are also 20/30. The sound quality was also very tinny, could be the venue (KRock in Kingston), but why was this show done in a large arena? Its better as a small crowd at a local theatre because thats the quality of it. Don't waste your money. Especially if you've seen the Ed Mirvish production already in Toronto, this one simply cannot compare to that talent and quality at all.
This is a poor presentation. Too long, boring, bad sound, bad show!
I would like to get a refund please. It’s a mistake to do that show in this place.
The sound isn’t good, the traduction english/french are annoying, the emotion seems not real, etc.
Dirty Dancing kept us dancing in our seats!! The music was great!! The dancing was amazing & Christopher Tierney stole the show playing Johnny Castle!! He did justice to Patrick Swayse!! It was a wonderful start to my birthday (yes I'm an April Fool) & a show I will not soon forget!!! I really did have the time of my life!!!
