About

Eddie Izzard is a British comedian and actor born in Aden, Yemen. The genderfluid performer got her start in sketch comedy and street performance before launching her stand-up comedy career. Known for her rambling, stream-of-consciousness monologue style and self-referencing pantomime, Izzard won two Primetime Emmys for her 2000 special Dress to Kill. The comedian’s film and TV credits include Ocean’s Twelve (2004), Ocean’s Thirteen (2007), The Riches (2007), Valkyrie (2008), Cars 2 (2011), and The LEGO Batman Movie (2017). Izzard also earned a Tony nomination for the Broadway revival of A Day in the Death of Joe Egg. In 2024, she premiered her one-person adaptation of Hamlet, which will transfer to Chicago and London following its triple-extended run in New York City.

  • Eddie Izzard's performance was all I had hoped for.

by Richard Gibson on 2023-10-05The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - WindsorRating: 5 out of 5

He's my favourite comedian. I was not sure what to expect, him (and me!) being older and all that. He did not disappoint. His pantomiming is the best. Combine that with his imagination and you get a memorable performance.

  • Lots of fun

Fantastic show. Lots of good laughter. Izzard did not disappoint. Lots of fun. Audience really enjoyed the show and so did I.

  • The world needs more jazz chickens

The show was the perfect antidote to a day spent coding because the world just needs more jazz chickens.

  • Amazing

I've loved Eddie for years. I saw her show that came through Regina in 2010 and was so pleased to see that content repackaged because I laughed so hard I peed a little. Always amazing. Always giving 110%. Tremendous.

  • The Best of Eddie!

What a fun night seeing Eddie Izzard live again! Thankfully her political career hasn’t taken off yet so she graced us with a tour of fan favourites. So glad she shared: the bee dance, covered in bees, bird on a plane, and of course Darth Vader at the canteen. I even detected James Mason as God and Sean Connery as Noah in there. Her comedy is insightful, intelligent and she often wraps a seed of fact with whimsical humour. As always happens when seeing her live, our faces hurt by the end from smiling and laughing for over 2 hours straight. While I don’t want to lose her to Politics, I’d definitely vote for her if I lived in Brighton!

  • Excellent & funny show

by Judy on 2023-09-28National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

Eddie Izzard was great. This was the first time I saw her in a show and I was truly impressed. She was funny, intelligent and quick with a joke. Can't wait to see another show.

  • Unintelligible

by JCo on 2023-09-28National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 2 out of 5

Because of the thick accent and lots of words muttered under their breath several audience members were lost as to what they was saying, including myself. I had to leave halfway through as people around me were laughing and I could barely make out a thing. It was a pretty lonely feeling. I look forward to catching it on YouTube with subtitles!

  • I laughed a few times and cringed a few.

I think he is a brilliant and funny man who could use an editor. It was a long show for one person, a bit too long for Eddy. Love him all the same!

  • Amazing

The show was amazing, she is absolutely hilarious! Just as good, if not better than her Dress to Kill performance! So happy she’s back in Canada!

  • A Great Night!

Eddy was fantastic! She was warm, engaging and full of humorous stories & points of view. It was an evening full of laughter made memorable by Eddy and facilitated by the venues cheerful staff. I felt confident enjoying my first event in a few years (because of the global pandemic), and I was able to enjoy the evening more, knowing COVID policies and protocols were in place to help ensure all patrons safety.
