The show was more then what I was expected. She talk to us several time and give us a human and warm show
We had a good night however I was annoyed with the fact that we were the only people under 30 in that concert.
She came to Vancouver and sang all favorite songs. Imagine she started with Je T'aime, continue with Caruso, Je Suis Malade and finished with Adagio!!! What else she could bring us? I love you and anybody who complain with French and Italian songs please go to Justin Bieber concert!
The concert was Amazing! Her voice is so wonderful and all songs are very nice. Looking forward to hear her again. Thank you to Lara and her band for a wonderful evening!
She is very nice. Her voice is amazing. Hopefully she will come again.
Lara had a cold, but that was only evident between songs, when she had to blow her nose and sip some warm nectar to soothe her throat. Throughout this wonderful, 2-hour performance, she never failed to hit any note and her voice exhibited its full range of pitch and dynamics. It's a shame that so few people in this area are aware of what a magnificent singer and live performer Lara Fabian is. Only about 700 people in this 1,000-seat theater, but that had no effect on her performance. She sang - beautifully! - her most popular songs (it was the "Greatest Hits" tour, after all) such as Je T'Aime, La Difference, Je Suis Malade and Caruso, but added some newer and lesser-known material. The one song she sang in Russian was accompanied by all the enthusiastic Russians in the audience - perhaps a full half of those in attendance. Lara was backed by a professional and creative four-piece band consisting of pianist, classical guitarist, contrabassist and a very imaginative percussionist who used upturned, half-spherical wooden drums and a wash basin full of water to create marvellous and musical sounds. I waited twenty years to see Lara and I wasn't the least bit disappointed.
LARA FABIAN does not just sing, she opens her mouth and unleashes her heartbeat on the entire crowd! Loved the set and lighting, but the real highlight was the bond between Lara and the four virtuoso musicians on stage. She has assembled a wonderfully international group on and offstage - loved seeing the Latins, the Russians, the Canadians and others all agreeing on how a well-spent evening could be spent together. LARA had the sniffles a bit on Thursday, but she barely let it affect her performance - CLASS & PROFESSIONALISM personified! Get well soon - and thanks for sharing a great evening!
The concert was simply sensational ! I hv been to many many concerts but I wld rate this one of the TOP !! She sang with her heart & soul . Her convincing yet sensitive voice brought u into the music . A few songs brought tears to my eyes . Her passion & love for music was overwhelming . Applause to the musicians , they perfected the concert ! Standing ovation to this performance ..... Bravo !
A rare opportunity to see a world class francophone artist in Vancouver. I've been following Lara since the beginning of her career in Montreal and was fortunate to see her at the Francofolies in Montreal in 2006. Lara did not disappoint. An amazing intimate concert, no dancers, no big band, just a great set of musicians supporting her and her amazing voice. I'm hoping she will come back to Vancouver, but unfortunately the River Rock was half empty. Lara is a star in Quebec and most of Europe but not in Western Canada. A shame.
Found her performance to be a cut above, and will fondly reflect on the music and images for a long time. In a class all her own!
Lara Fabian was at her best as always, however, the concert was organized quite poorly: air conditioner was blasting so that the singer had to wrap herself in some kind of poncho and still felt frozen. Then, the lighting was directed straight at the audience, so half of us had to put a hand in front of our face just to protect ourselves from the bright light directed right into our eyes, so I saw very little of what was going on on the stage.
QET is a small hall thus she had just 4 of her musicians. But the performance was wonderful.
It was a beautiful performance by Lara. The set was minimal but didn't matter, as her incomparable voice is what matters. I like the acoustic setting, brought out her amazing voice more. No one stopped us from taking pictures, which was really great and I am thankful to the theatre for that kindness. Lara was magnificent as always, and I would see her again every time she comes back. I wouldn't miss it for anything! :-)
The theatre needs major renovations, the chairs were old and used had it not been a good performance we would have left. The seats were not worth the money we paid for.
Lara Fabian has an amazing voice. I really like to hear her singing in French (more than in English) or Italian. I thought she dressed up like an old lady, covered in black from neck to toes. It is pretty much her style unfortunately. (I am not saying she should dress trashy, but rather more appropriate for her age). There wasn`t much "show" overall, it was very static; just the lights made the concert different. She likes talking to audience between songs and that was very nice. She is one of the most modest singers I know. You go to a Lara Fabian for her voice only. I would go again and again!
I would see Lara Fabian again. What a voice she has. Very emotional and love the music in french.
Great concert - we enjoyed every minute!!!!! Lara was fabulous, her voice is one of the kind.
poor show for the price, good voice but not so extraordinary , not a diva ....
please, please Lara Fabian Sing some english songs in your concert!!! I wanna hear songs off your english album :Its a wonderfull Life;!! please!!
Very talented performer but sadly not in a good shape; sick, perhaps. It was all over after 1hr 15min. Not sure if this is a new normal but at least this is the first performance that short at Sony Centre I ever witnessed.
