    Not Nearly Neil Diamond

by 1967HH on 2018-01-03The Pearl Showroom, Casino Yellowhead - Edmonton

My husband and myself were disappointed in the show. Not in the quality of singers, but the music. It was advertised as Neil diamond, but only 1 set out of 3 were actually Neil diamond songs. We found it misleading. The singers were good but we would have appreciated more Neil diamond.

    overall everything was quite bad.

Service was terrible, food was terrible, the tables were so crammed together that it was difficult to get to the buffet and back, they ran out of dishes at least 4 times and that's only the ones I know about from our side, they didn't clear our dirty plates from our tables so we were left with a big stack of them in the way, our water glasses were always left empty for a long time, then at the end of the night they ran out of New Year's Eve party favours so we had to wait again while they tried to find more. If they know how many tickets they sold then how did they keep running out of plates and how did they run out of party favors? Just all around bad planning. On the map we chose our seats so that we would be out of the way of the buffet, well that didn't work out for us at all. We had a stupid pilar in our way that was not structurally necessary (it held 2 tvs) it prevented 3 of the 4 seats at our table from seeing the stage. We also had to endure the buffet line bumping into us non stop. We thankfully came with the people at the table beside us so we ended up moving our table so that is was joined with theirs or we would have never been able to see the show. I also think that you should be able to buy seats instead of tables. There were 6 of us so we had to buy 2 tables and were left with 2 empty seats. The guy singing Neal diamond songs needs to pronounce his words because 80% of the time we had no idea what he was saying. The other band members were quite good though. We spoke to some of the other guests and they said they would most likely never go back as well. Not good for the venue after it just reopened.
