NEW ORDER IN CONCERT:

As one of the most influential new wave bands of the '80s, New Order  brought electronic dance music to the forefront of mainstream consciousness, setting the tone for generations of music to come. EDM progenitors like "Blue Monday" and "Bizarre Love Triangle" sound as fresh today as they did 30 years ago, making the band a continued presence atop festival bills around the globe. Bernard Sumner and co. sounded as sharp as ever on tour in 2013, treating fans to an emotional Joy Division tribute during their encores and setting expectations sky high for their 2014 appearances.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in the wake of legendary post-punk band Joy Division, New Order pressed on after  late-frontman Ian Curtis' suicide with a decidedly more optimistic sound than the group's Curtis-fronted incarnation. With former guitarist/keyboardist Bernard Sumner assuming vocal duties under the new moniker, New Order made their album debut in 1981 with Movement, breaking from the gravity of their previous work with buoyant tracks like "Dreams Never End." 1983 follow-up Power, Corruption & Lies really broke the mold, exploring a fusion of rock and early techno that brought them international fame and influenced much of the decade's ensuing music. Over nine studio albums, New Order have built one of the most beloved legacies in popular music, continuing to thrill awestruck fans both in the studio and on the road.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Bernard and company came with a lot of energy. Played lots of New Order faves and dug deep for some Joy Division chestnuts."

"Perfect show. They played all the hits and closed with a flawless three song Joy Division encore. They sounded great"

"New Order still has it!!! Saw them back in the 80's & this show was just as awesome!"

PSB & NO great shows but not worth the venue.

by Frank on 2022-09-22Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Budweiser Stage has one exit, took over an hour to get out and did not feel safe with crowd converging. Vendors and taxis gouge. Not worth it.

Awesome show, improper signage for entry

by Jaybick on 2022-09-22Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Show was spectacular! Unfortunately we waited in line to get in for e0 minutes only to be told we had to get in a different line because we had floor tickets. There was no signage at the entry delineating that floor tickets were a different (and much shorter) line. We could have been in within 3 minutes had the signage been posted

    Awesome show...venue issues.

by KAG on 2022-09-21Budweiser Stage - Toronto

I absolutely loved the show! Both Pet Shop Boys and New Order were amazing! As for the venue, they didn’t open the gates until 5:45pm for a 6:30pm start show. This led to massive crowds and line ups to get in. Not very safe due to COVID. People were literally on top of each other. If they had opened the gates earlier then people could have entered sporadically without all the congestion. One of our party of 4 got COVID at the event. It was likely due to standing in the line for an hour and a half! We had lawn seats so we were able to distance there, but not while we were in the massive line up with thousands of people! Very irresponsible of Budweiser Stage!
