Ottawa Senators History

The original Ottawa Senators were founded in 1883 and were one of the founding teams of the NHL during its early years, winning 11 Stanley Cup Championships between 1903 and 1927. When the NHL started to expand to the U.S., the Senators were sold to St. Louis and became the Eagles, but the team shuttered after one year. The second incarnation of the Senators joined the NHL in 1992. The Senators have since gone on to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs 16 times.

Lots of fun...except for parking and leaving!

by Monty on 2023-10-26Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

We always enjoy Sens games but the traffic jam entering and leaving is insane and a waste of time. Also the new app/qr code process was not working and confused a lot of people. Prices for parking and beer is too high as well.

2Hot dogs and a drink are more expensive than seats?

by Andy on 2023-10-24Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

Seriously, 2 hot dogs and a drink is $27.99. Same for pizza slices. That’s if you can get through the crowd to get one. And they also lost. Disappointed for the 8th time in a row. Have not been to a game yet where they have won. Getting out of the parking lot is so much fun too. The value for the money is just not there.

    Steepest Arena ever

by Big Easy on 2023-10-24Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

Very disappointed got to our seats and there’s no room to walk through the aisle to get to your seats. No railing to hold onto and a very steep fall for those of us who have balance issues. Really wish they had been transparent when we booked them, ended up sitting in the concourse all game.

    Bush league concessions

by Luis Maxime on 2023-10-24Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

It was a generally good game experience, but they really have to do better with their food concessions. It was understaffed and they falsely advertised that « fresh popcorn » was being served when they actually just dump a bag of pre-bought popcorn and dump it into the machine. Very bush league.

    Good experience except

by Lynnie on 2023-10-24Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

Overall great tickets, great day and the price was right EXCEPT for the parking. Unbelievable $35 just to park for the game. Makes us think twice to order more tickets. Tickets pricy + that amount for parking. Ridiculous!

    A great time

by Sean on 2023-10-20Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

Everything from fan experience to the actual show was great. Reffing was NHL reffing but obviously not what arena can control. Will be back.

    Fantastic

by Jason C on 2023-10-17Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

Great weekend of Hockey put on by the Ottawa Senators. They know how to put on fun events! Attended back to back games and enjoyed both very much! Can't wait to go back someday.

    Pretty great but food meh…

by Angel on 2023-10-12Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

Love the Ledge seating! I’m just very tired of the pasta buffet. They use to have a variety of meal options but now it’s only a pasta buffet. Otherwise, amazing service and awesome seats!

    New Location Required

by D’Arcy on 2023-10-11Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

We’ve all heard lots about how the Ottawa Senators need to move their arena. Well I experienced it firsthand on Saturday night when caught in a long line of traffic trying to exit the highway to get into the arena. That wasn’t a half of it roadways, etc. are in adequate to handle the traffic volume that’s coming in. And they’ve had +20 years to fix this. I’m not a regular attendee to the Senators games but have been 6 or so times. It’ll be the last till they move. Not worth the hassle. The game itself was entertaining. And the ticket prices were reasonable. But getting there. Hassle city!!

    Ottawa Senators game

by Louise on 2023-10-10Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

Always a great time. Parking is now too expensive for being so far out of town. It took us over an hour to get out. Should be no more than 10$

    Parking is just terrible

by Dom on 2023-10-10Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

Getting into the parking took about an hour and we missed the beginning of the game. Getting out after the game also took an hour and kids were crying in the back of the car. The amount of effort it takes to bring 2 kids to a sens game with this stadiums' location is just to long. Once a year is quite enough for me. At least until they change the venue or make it easier to access for families.

    Fun time, worth it

by Sens fan on 2023-10-10Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

Fun time, worth it. If ypu pick a row above it might be tight seating but it is what it is. It doesn't take away from the show. Security top notch. Felt safe even with the ampunt of people present. Thank you!

    CTC

by Larissa on 2023-10-10Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

As much as I love coming to the CTC to cheer on the SENS, the building needs a cleaning, the stands and stairs are extremely sticky and dirty making it difficult to walk around. I’ve been multiple times just this preseason and fans around me have been making the same complaints. It’s a beautiful center with great entertainment but the stands need some cleaning.

    Less than expected

by Lynne on 2023-10-05Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

Great for the kids. They had a blast and that was good. Make them Sens Fans early. However, no interaction with players or management at all. No announcements of fan appreciation. Practice was good. But the players ignored the fans. The autograph section was limited to those who had wristbands and the line ups were LONG. The line up to the Sens Store was stupid long. The whole event felt half hearted and aimed at making money only. Not a Sens Fan event as per previous years.

    Not Worth It

by Wildrose on 2023-10-03Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

When I thought of Fan Fest Ottawa Senators I was super excited to take my kids and grandkids. I drove 3hrs and got a room. Only to have to wait in super long lines with the kids, waited over hour for a ride to only stand in another line for over an hour to get a balloon animal. I was excepting maybe a big BBQ outside, more activities (then lines up wouldn't of been so long), maybe a couple of players coming out to thank the fans that support them all year long. Drinks outside would of been great since it was so hot. I've been to hockey games that had more energy then Fan Fest. I was very disappointed with Fan Fest. There should of been more presents from the Ottawa Senators, maybe grab bags for the kids. I put more thought and planning into birthday parties then what the Ottawa Senators planned for Fan Fest. I will not return next year for this reason.

    Fanfest Review

by Barbie on 2023-10-03Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

I wanted to get some autographs of some players. However, I was not informed anywhere that you had to have a wristband. I was disappointed about this. For next year, please inform people that they have to have a wristband to get autographs, if there is an autograph session with the players.

by Jim on 2023-10-03Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

Unfortunately, there was no consideration wrt date/start and end time, for those who cannot attend, due to religious reasons, until later that Saturday! I arrived @ 1 pm only to be told that everything was closed.
