The debut single from Swae Lee and Slim Jimmy was called "No Flex Zone", though the swaggering siblings have every reason to strut their stuff -- their 2015 debut album SremmLife topped both the Rap and R&B charts, earning rave reviews and establishing them as a potent new force in hip hop. The pair's bounce-worthy live shows make good on all the hype, treating ticket buyers to amped-up performances of favorites like "No Type" and "Throw Sum Mo" that always get them moving and shaking.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Brothers Swae Lee and Slim Jimmy, aka Khalif and Aaquil Brown, were born and raised in Tupelo, MS. They started their posting music to sites like YouTube and Reverbnation in their late teens, and before long Southern rapper P-Nasty invited them to record with him in Atlanta. They headed to The ATL and laid down the songs "I Dip" and "We", but really made their mark when they linked up with producer Mike Will Made It for their 2014 single "No Flex Zone". That track peaked at No. 8 on the Rap Chart, leading to an official remix by Nicki Minaj and Pusha T that helped the song hit Platinum status. The brothers' rise continued in 2015 with their debut album SremmLife, a critical masterstroke that topped both the Rap and R&B charts. An electric young act with big things on the horizon, Rae Sremmurd continue to prove their mettle every time they take the stage on tour.
