About

Saskatchewan Roughriders at Mosaic Stadium

The Saskatchewan Roughriders may be one of the oldest sports franchises in North America, but the Canadian Football League team can lay claim to the newest, most state-of-the-art field in the nation. Regina's Mosaic Stadium has been the Roughriders' home since 2017. It's a multipurpose, 33,000-person-capacity venue that, on game days, transforms into a sea of green. But its unique design features -- like its sunken-bowl seating and tiled panels that partially cover three sides of the field -- make it feel cozy and intimate even in the most unforgiving Prairie weather. Boasting the largest scoreboard of any CFL venue, plus larger-than-average 20-inch-wide seats and luxury lounges, Mosaic Stadium offers the CFL's smallest market a true big-city sporting experience. If you prefer more of an old-school gridiron vibe, get yourself a cheap ticket in Pil Country -- aka the stadium's standing-room-only section in the south end zone, where the 19-plus age restriction gives you a pretty good indication of the atmosphere you can expect.

Saskatchewan Roughriders History

The roots of the Saskatchewan Roughriders predate that of the Canadian Football League itself. Originally founded in 1910 as the Regina Rugby Club, the team would rename itself the Regina Roughriders before settling on the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1946 (and introducing those signature green-and-white uniforms shortly thereafter). After joining the nascent CFL in 1958, the Roughriders enjoyed an extended honeymoon period where they made the playoffs every year from 1962 to 1976, including their first Grey Cup win in 1966. Their next championship victory would come in 1989 with quarterback Kent Austin -- who, 18 years later, was hired as the Roughriders' head coach and led them to their third Grey Cup win during his first and only season on the job. But the team's 2013 Grey Cup victory -- powered by a record-breaking rushing performance by running back Kory Sheets -- was arguably the sweetest, as it was the first to happen on the Roughriders' home turf. After an 80-year run at the historic Taylor Field, the Roughriders moved to the much more modern Mosaic Stadium in 2017.

Regina is the best place to watch a CFL game!

by Ryan the Rider Fan on 2023-09-06Mosaic Stadium - Regina

The lines for the gate and for food move quickly. The staff and volunteers are friendly and helpful. There is a huge security and police presence so the atmosphere is safe and fun. Pregame activities are well planned and the city welcomes fans of the Riders and the visiting team with open arms. Watching a CFL game in Regina is a great experience!

    It was awesome

by Railboy on 2023-09-06Mosaic Stadium - Regina

It was the greatest experience ever have been to Rider games before but this was so great. I took 3 people who have never been to a live CFL game. They were all in their 70s and told me they loved ever minute of it. We had great seats. The only thing was they run out of Draft beer before half time. The food was great and easily assessable. The entrance was slow cause the sun was giving the gate people a nightmare as the scanners were having a problem picking them up. All in all was great. The shuttle’s to the game were very fast. Happy
