    Dazzling

    by mjfargo on 2019-11-25

This is the second year I've seen "live," and the talent from the season was on display, minus Gino who was out due to injury. People were assigned to fill in and, in general, that worked. There was more of a script than the previous year's show, which didn't add much: a beach party, a restaurant, "contemporary," etc. What does work is the flow of dancers integrating and ready to repeat routines from the show, back-to-back. Some new costumes were welcome but not always an improvement. There is no let down in scene changes or dead air. Alas, the marvelous set piece for the roof top "slide" by Mariah & Bailey didn't make the show, but the moving "Sign of the Times" choregraphed by Travis Wall was a stand out. All the dancers have improved and show a new maturity which was thrilling. A great evening where the energy never stopped. (The music/audience IS loud.)

Decent show, but the hosts could have been better.

by McD on 2019-10-21Casino Rama Resort - Rama

My wife and I enjoyed the show, but the hosts were a little stale. The dancing was great and many of the performances were favourites we wanted to see live. Avoid floor seating if possible at Casino Rama! We had a very tall gentleman in front of us and neither one of us had the best view, because of it.

    SYTYCD CasinoRama

    by B. M. on 2019-10-21Casino Rama Resort - Rama

The dancing was fantastic, new routines dominated the night with a few routines from the tv show. On top of that the music was great and the sound system truly rocked while low base tones shook the 5,000 seats. Well worth the money spent.

    Where was the dancing?

    by K. S. on 2019-10-21Casino Rama Resort - Rama

I have watched SYTYCD for years. The variety was DEFINITELY lacking. There was more ass shaking than dancing. This was actually comments that many attendees shared. Where was the ballet? Acro? More contemporary with fast and slow, ballroom can be cool too, also the dancers were not extremely talented. The leg kicks werent high, technique poor, if my 12 yr old daughter can see it, then its pretty obvious. Beautifully choreographed pieces, exciting choreography that makes you think was definitely missing. The art just was not there. Would not attend again.

    Mixed

by Jason Padre on 2019-10-21Casino Rama Resort - Rama

Some great dancers on this tour! The two MC's were amateur hour, but they're trained to dance not handle a crowd. The bass was usually too loud, sometimes to the point of being painful. Enjoyed the show for the most part, but doubt I'll go to another one.

Venue's floor seats not for dance shows!

by Wenugo on 2017-12-12Grey Eagle Event Centre - Calgary

Lesson 1: Don't get floor seats at the Grey Eagle if you want to see legs, feet, or people down on the floor. Having said that, they had decent screens with a good camera angle to help, but I didn't pay to watch TV. There weren't that many impactful moments such as those that I recall from seeing the TV show in past seasons - maybe this was a weaker season? Kudos to the sound crew - the body-shaking rumble was intoxicating, yet the high end was never painful and the audible bass was rarely muddy. The visual effects (lights and screens) were stylish and engaging as well. They did a good job cramming numbers into the show with nearly zero downtime, but my wife found this made it a bit of a blur and couldn't reflect on the various routines.

    Amazing Show

by janp on 2017-12-08Grey Eagle Event Centre - Calgary

This event was such a thrill to experience particularly after following these amazing dancers throughout season 14. Their talent and chemistry with one another is unbelievable. A shout out to all the choreographers, as well as, to the spectacular costume design, set, lighting and sound. It was all so riveting.

    Brilliant and beautiful dancing❤❤❤

by oldiebutgoodie on 2017-12-07Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

SYTYCD Edmonton was a spectacular event. The Jubilee is such a great venue to showcase all the wonderful dances we saw. Mandy Moore did an exceptional job of seamless transitions between the routines. I loved every dance in the show. Wow what an incredible top 10 and Marko. Did not want the evening to end and this show was so professionally done with the light show and the messages from the choreographers. Certainly one of the best live shows I've ever seen!!
