    Another great year!

by Panamaria on 2017-06-21Fort York: Garrison Common - Toronto

This was our fourth straight year at Taste of Toronto and it was better than ever. I was initially disappointed it was scheduled for Father's Day weekend, but my husband had the best day! He raved about the mixology class and we treated him to a beautiful, new cocktail set so he could practice what he learned. We really enjoyed the wine tasting and look forward to seeing more of these events in the future. There was more seating so our large group enjoyed a beautiful afternoon chatting, eating and drinking. The best of Toronto restaurants were represented such as Bar Isabel and Richmond Station, but we also sampled food from restaurants that are not even open yet, so we look forward to their debut. Great job team!

Taste of Toronto Gets Better Every Year!

by JeanB on 2017-06-20Fort York: Garrison Common - Toronto

Lots of awesome food, both to sample and purchase. The Chardonnay Tasting was fun and interesting to sample from 6 wineries. Picnic tables under trees and live music! And once again the whole venue was kept amazingly clean - lots of bins and a great crew keeping everything looking good.

    A LITTLE Taste of Toronto

by Blondeb on 2017-06-20Fort York: Garrison Common - Toronto

This was my first time going to TOT and was quite disappointed in the price of food for what you received. There were two of us and we each tried 4 of 5 different places at the $8.00 tasting level and left hungry. For the price of a VIP ticket ($42.00) and an extra $34-42 for a taste of sampled food was way too much. I also found that some overcharged. I bought a can of Apple Cider that sells in the Liquor store for $3.97 and they charged $8.00 for one. Not impressed overall.

    The tequila tasting was memorable

Also the cocktail making event, was fabulous. We ate and drank delicacies all day long. A real treat for the senses

    Will definitely attend next year

by Cheupss74 on 2016-07-17Garrison Common at Fort York National Historic Site - Toronto

I usually avoid taste of "anything" in Toronto because it's typically on a street with people walking aimlessly. I liked the fact that you bought tickets to attend during a window. Which was more than enough time to sample, watch demonstrations and even participate in a cooking class. Sure, some of the items may have been pricey. But why would you go there for your "meal"? And if you go with others, you can divide the tastings between each other. This was my first time going, and I'd go back again. Oh, and I loved the cashless system.

Fantastic day at Taste of Toronto!

by Panamaria on 2016-06-29Garrison Common at Fort York National Historic Site - Toronto

The slight change of venue this year was great. Adding tables and chairs under the trees allowed our family (including our 86 year old grandma) to enjoy the sunny afternoon in comfort. The selection and variety of venues was sufficient to satisfy most palates. The only suggestion I would make would be to increase the number of restaurants participating given the very long queues at some venues. Taste of Toronto has become a family tradition to launch summer!

    Disappointing

by JoeDi on 2016-06-29Garrison Common at Fort York National Historic Site - Toronto

I won't be going back to this event. I would have liked to have seen more restaurants participate. The food offering by restaurants was grossly over-priced and poor value for money. Drinks were no bargain either. The best value and some of the most interesting food was sampled by the non-restaurant exhibitors. There was limited seating for people that did not have VIP passes (thankfully, we had AMEX Front of the Line VIP tickets so we had access to their tent/lounge where there was cold water, pretzels and seating).

First time going, would definitely return

by Nicole78 on 2016-06-29Garrison Common at Fort York National Historic Site - Toronto

The food was excellent (though pricey). The Amex lounge was nice. Not as many food vendors as I had anticipated, but more fine dining than I had anticipated. The venue is hard to get to by car as parking is quite distant.

    A great event for foodies

by TastingToronto on 2016-06-29Garrison Common at Fort York National Historic Site - Toronto

Line ups were long but went fast. Weather was super hot - nice and sunny. There should be more seating areas so people can sit and enjoy their food. There were long tables to quickly eat your small portions of foods. Spent 100 on food and was full. Best food was from MIKU and the calamari burger from North 44 which stood out the most at the food festival because of their black squid ink buns. Was planning to upgrade $45 more for the VIP lounge but so glad I didn't because its just a lounge with a bar. We mostly were exploring the food festival going to each booth and trying samples and checking out the food options.

    Over rated for the hype

by Hkqdan on 2016-06-29Garrison Common at Fort York National Historic Site - Toronto

I was very excited to try this event out. I love food! However I was deeply disappointed with how very few vendors there was and how little the selection there was available. The prices were absolutely ridiculous for the portions. You should bank on paying for everything you taste. There is barely any free things to try. And on top of the pricey food selection you will also have to pay for an entrance fee. I will most likely not return to this event.
