Symphony of the Goddesses was AMAZING!!!

by Dalispero on 2017-12-05Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I highly recommend this show! My young daughter and I are HUGE Legend of Zelda fans, so we knew that we were going to enjoy this. My partner isn't as familiar with Zelda, but he found the show just as unforgettable as we did! Beautiful!

Stunning music! I'd go again if I could. The orchestra and conductor obviously had fun and their energy was contagious.

    A Legendary Performance!

by GamerMum on 2017-12-05Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

This was an amazing performance in all ways. I had no idea what to expect, and I am not a Zelda game fan, but I was captivated by the performance of the orchestra and the choir, the gameplay visuals, and the overal character of the crowd. I took my 8 year old son, who is a gamer but has never been to a symphony or an orchestral performance. He was engaged the entire 2 hour show. When it was over, I asked what he thought - “Amazing. Ten out of ten!” My only wish was that it started a bit earlier - given that there are many young people in the audience, 8PM was a late start for a 2.5 hour show. But we survived and would go again.

    Great Show, Bad Audience

by AquaTot71 on 2017-12-05Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

The show itself was great, but I wish people would remember they are at a symphony, not a rock concert. The conductor early on encouraged cheering and clapping throughout, and at that point the audience lost all sense of dignity. Cheers and applause would break out any time a familiar tune occurred (all the time) so you couldn’t actually hear the orchestra during the best parts. I would much rather they had asked the audience to hold all applause and cheers for the end of each piece, so as not to interrupt. I also had an issue with people around me humming along or talking over the music, which drew me out of the experience, and I expect this wouldn’t have been a problem if they had asked the room for silence. I took off 2 stars from my review, specifically from the above issue. For what an average fan of Zelda is looking for, this concert delivers. If you are a fan of symphonies and live orchestras in general, you may be disappointed, due to the audience interruptions. I also found it had less variety than previous seasons, with two Breath of the Wild suites and a new Skyward Sword Movement eating a lot of the time. I would have liked to hear more multi-game medleys, instead of game-specific suites.

The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses

by Carlotta on 2017-12-04Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

This show is absolutely amazing to watch! I would highly recommend it. The big screen that you watch for all of the various Legend of Zelda games coupled with the orchestra playing the music in the background is excellent!
