    Adam Cohen was impressive!

by KellyKCBS on 2012-10-22RIO Theatre on BROADWAY - Vancouver

I went to the concert expecting a soft , quite performance even melancholy but I was so impressed with Adam's personable style. He was fully interactive with the audience and funny! I didn't expect funny from a man who had written an album with so many heartfelt songs. Outstanding. His music is full and real and his bandmates are the perfect compliment. I am looking forward to his next work; I'm sure it will exceed expectation.

    Absolute Poetry

by dmfan519 on 2012-02-13Virgin Mobile Mod Club - Toronto

Everything about this evening was awesome, the intimate venue and audience, the haunting opening act and of course the very talented musicians, put that together with Adam Cohen and you cannot lose. Not one song from his early album and stayed true to his present album - a very talented songwriter and and singer, crisp clear and a real treat.

    Adam Cohen warmed my soul

by Africo on 2012-02-11National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

On a cold Ottawa night, you could feel the heat at the NAC. Strong lyrics, wonderful music, endearing banter and emotion from a drop dead gorgeous man. Leonard, you should be proud (and maybe a little jealous?!) No, just kidding, you still blow us away as always.

    Cohen Continues

by 2ndchance on 2012-02-10National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

We were blown away by the personal venue at the NAC - what a perfect set-up for the intimate performance of Adam and his band. The opening act set the mood for a great evening. Our only complaint was that Adam seemed rushed due to the 2nd show that had opened up due to demand. Good for him but bad for guests in show #1!

    A great night

by MinaM on 2009-09-22Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

It was a very nice evening. My husband and I decided to go just a day before the event. I had so much fun although I was very tired on Friday evening. It was a mixed group of young to old people and all in all amazing night.

Tribute to Leonard Cohen was impressive!

by splatt on 2009-09-21Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Did not really know what to expect from this event but thoroughly enjoyed the variety & talent displayed from many different genres of music. All were great but particularly Leonard's son, Adam & the young Adam Gregory, who gave an outstanding performance!

    Leonard Cohen Night was amazing!

by sisterofmercy on 2009-09-21Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I went to the performance thinking that I was going to see Leonard Cohen perform. But I was not disappointed in how the evening unfolded. It made me realize the high calibre of talent this community produces and that made me proud to be an Edmontonian. The music, of course, was fantastic and the artists were spectacular.

    Lisabeth

by Lisabeth on 2009-09-21Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Not particularly a Cohen fan, I attended the Leonard Cohen Night 2009 with some trepidation. How wonderful to leave the show feeling lifted and pleasantly surprized. The event was a magnificent combination of visual art, dance, recorded music and impressive young performers supported by a very competant house band. The styles presented varied from country to reggae to rock with the occassional piece staying to true to the Cohen style. The show opened and was interspersed with a large screen representation of some of Cohen's most familiar music in the form of vibrant artwork developing before us enhanced by dancers interpreting these classic numbers. Each performer involved in the production did short sets of five songs bringing their own unique qualities to the work. The show's last performer, Adam Cohen, had all the richness of his father's voice enhanced by his own incredibly harmonious tones and an obvious familiar understanding of the pieces he presented. The audience spontaniously rose to their feet at the conclusion of the entire ensembles version of "Hallelujah." For one not sure she even wanted to attend the concert I am happily looking forward to next year's version of "Leonard Cohen Night." A very memorable evening.

    Leonard Cohen Night .....surprising

by Lauri on 2009-09-20Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

What amazing local talent...Why go see big names when talent like this is available. Ido van der Laan was incredible. There was an audible gasp when he began to sing. Others have heard of Janaya but it was my first and she could have carried the show on her own. The dancers and art work were excellent but Douglas Rachinski was mesmerizing! Ithouroughly enjoyed my evening. I think the weakest link was Adam Cohen, although it was great having him represent his father.

Leonard Cohen was mellow and most enjoyable.

by Sunshine3 on 2009-09-20Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The Leonard Cohen concert review of talented individuals, plus his son, Adam, was an amazingly relaxing evening of music and a reminder of the many top songs that Leonard Cohen is responsible for. The voices of the 4 young people performing his music were quite remarkably similar to Leonard's style. Adam was a true professional on stage with his easy and relaxed style.

    Leonard Cohen Night 2009

by Roey on 2009-09-19Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Absolutely Fabulous!!!!! I am so glad that I didn't change my mind and not go. I just wish Adam Cohen would have performed a few more of his father's songs...... I also wish the audience would have been kind enough to start singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Adam...... i think that would have finished off the night with a BANG!!!! :-)

The whole program was good, especially Janaya and Adam Cohen, however in the ticket master website they hadn't mentioned that Leonard Cohen isn't in the program.!!

by hchrzan on 2009-09-19Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I was kind of disappointed with Adam/Andy Cohen performance. It was pleasuere to meet son of Great Father. I would rather listen to Adam Gregory and Jannaya.

    Unexpected Fun!

by MLeeny on 2009-09-19Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The dancers were delightful, fresh and and a pleasure to watch - a great interpretation of the music. Ido van der Laan brought an enthusiastic and fun approach to LC's music. Adam Gregory was entertaining and fun to listen to and as much fun to watch! Janaya's performance was a mix of trying too hard, not being herself - and then the duet with Adam Coehn - proved to be a more natural performance. Adam Cohen was a master of professionalism and talent...... what a great treat! It was overall a delightful night!

    A fine night1

by Pennylope on 2009-09-19Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Such a rich experience-- spoken word, visual art, cross-generational dance, and soul-stirring performances of Leonard's ravishing songs, all woven together with Peter Brown's warmth, wit, and humanity. The range of performance experience was fitting in an event celebrating a lifetime of artistic creation, and all performances were animated with a deep appreciation for the gift of Leonard Cohen's work. I was moved by every song. Adam and Janaya's country and reggae treatments of Leonard's songs enriched them. And the charming Adam Cohen is clearly a powerful performer in his own right. The performers, through their own artistry, brought the spirit of Leonard Cohen into the room. My thanks to all of them and to those whose vision and preparatory contributions brought about this beautiful event. I felt priveleged to be present. I
