Apparently there are no animals at the circus anymore. Only ponies and dogs...both which looked like they need a bath and some love. The clowns were so old, they could barely walk. The event was slow to start and unorganized. I grew up going to the circus and am very disapointed in it. We also had tickets DIRECTLY behind the BMX ramps - which meant we saw NOTHING unless we peeked around it, or moved to a seat which wasnt ours. THE BMX'ers were out fgor a whole 3 minutes so really, could they put the ramp elsewhere or move it during intermission. Everyone around us complained about it all just as much as we did. The program said there were motorcross...there wasnt. It was poorly put together and I wish I didnt waste my money or time.

    Wouldn't go again

    by hart2smith on 2012-10-15Rexall Place - Edmonton

The acrobats, the bmx bikers and the woman that shot from the cannon were very entertaining. Could have watched the bikers for longer. Would have been nice after intermission if they would have had the acrobatic family each take turns instead of all of them doing something in each ring. Hard to watch them all at the same time and they were all excellent. I guess gone are the days of the real circus with trapeze artists, tight rope walkers and some elephants of course. Glad I got to see that when I was a kid - too bad my kids didn't get to see it.

My family was very disappointed with this event compared to the show the Shrines used to put on in the past. We found the lighting was very poor for the acrobat shows in the air and it was difficult to hear through the sound system when people were speaking. We left the event wanting more and feeling that the intermission was longer than the whole show combined. We will not be attending this event in future years.

    Probably Won't Go Again

by Anonymous on 2012-10-15Rexall Place - Edmonton

We ended up leaving at half time intermission. It wasn't quite what we thought we were going to see. It needs to be more up beat and quicker moving to keep the kids interest. Some of the acts seemed to go on way to long. And the cost for parking was absolutely ridiculous!

Took my grandkids and they really enjoyed the show. They were somewhat disappointed they didn't get tickets for the activities before and during intermission. The line ups for tickets were so long there was no time to participate. You might want to do something different, more ticket sellers, or increase ticket prices so activities are included. If all children cannot have the opportunity to participate there shouldn't be any activities at all. It is very hard to tell small children they are out of time.

    Was OK

by NQER on 2012-10-15Rexall Place - Edmonton

Circus was ok but was pretty slow paced for a chilren's event. The kids got a little bored.

Shrine Circus is a great family value!

by AZMom on 2012-10-15Rexall Place - Edmonton

While this may not be your traditional circus - there are no elephants or tigers - I think that's a good thing! The dog and horse acts were great as were the acrobatics and juggling. Additions of BMX and moto-cross bikes were really good. I took my 7-year-old daughter and her friend and they both loved the atmosphere and were amazed by the acts. The absolute best thing is that this is one of the few arena events that's really affordable for families - and it's for a great cause to boot!

Shrine Circus is great for toddlers

    by Orient26 on 2012-10-15Rexall Place - Edmonton

Adults were bored. Children 3 and under were bored but the 5 - 8 year olds loved it! There were horses, dogs, and trapeze acts. Not a lot of the clown performances which was nice.

The shrine circus was a lot of fun. We took our two girls and it was our 3 yr olds first time and she loved every minute of it & hasn't stopped talking about it since. Thank you for a great family time!

sooo much better this year than my last visit

by trendychic on 2012-10-14rexall place - edmonton alberta

2 years ago i went to the circus , it was so pittifull the acts kept messing up almost all of them, very disorganized and so forth, i think i rated this circus 1 star. This year was way over the top. so many differnt things that I have never seen before and i have been at this circus since i was 5 and i am 36 now. my 5 year old was sad when it was over. she was yelling and scream and applauding all the acts as they went about the circus event. And I was also very amused. there was not many animal acts but actually the momentum of this event was great and I think animal acts slowed it down. no more 1 stars 5 stars all around and I will be buying tickets for next year me and my daughter both will look forward to it.
