I have been seeing this group of Sweet People since 1979 and will continue to do so.they are great, nice music.. The only thing was the fact that it was really dry at the casino du Lac Leamy.we needed a bottle of water..and at times the group were coughing...

I attended the show with 2 other people, and we were all disappointed about the add-on with Julien Laurent (I think that was his name). We paid to see Sweet People, and not to listen to songs in 3 other languages. We found that was a waste of time, and looking at the audience, we were not the only ones. If that is the way to introduce the newcomer to the group, Sweet People will lose his target audience. We were disappointed that he would start a new song, knowing that more time would be wasted. Moreover, he has no presence on stage. While the medley of retake of songs was good, again, I would have appreciated hearing songs from the group.

    A Bit Of A Disappointment

by musicman1400 on 2013-05-12National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

Having attended their concerts here in Ottawa every two years since 1985-86, this time around I was really disappointed with this year's concert. Too much stage time was given to their newest member guest Julien Lawrence (he does have a excellent voice) and too much stage time was taken away from the original team members, Jean-Jacques, Madi and Fred. Song selections weren't as good as they've been in the past concerts ( too much new material and not enough of the songs they are known for). The energy level they usually display while on stage was just not there!!! Also, I must admit that , in all of the numerous occasions that I've attended concerts at the NAC, this is the 1st time that I found myself being annoyed by an NAC audience and all their yelling! Some of the people in the audience were really annoying with their yelling and very loud!! At times, I thought I was attending a rock concert at Scotia Bank Place! Although, I really love their concerts and their music, this experience will certainly make me think twice before I attend their concert next time.

    Entertaining evening

by mirmg on 2013-05-12National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

Attending a Sweet People event is always a treat. The voices, the songs, the show are wonderful. I know the group has a special affection for Canada and they want to give us our money's worth but unfortunately, my husband and I both agree that the show was too long. The way we feel could be attributed to the loud and screaming people who surrounded us. When we attend a concert we like to hear the performers, and not the singing audience around us who mask the stars throughout the whole show. We also had to turn around to say SHHH to a person behind us who talked incessantly.

    Waste of money!

by Benhurtheone on 2013-05-12National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

Alain Moriseau was trying to sell some of his cd's between songs, right on stage!! It was a waste of time and money. We (6) left after the half....

by Anonymous on 2011-10-08National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

What a selfless group! Almost 3 hours of fabulous entertainment! Always something new - Julien Laurence two years ago and again this year, plus the Queen tribute this year...A wonderful evening! Looking forward to their return.

    Sweet people

by Claro on 2011-05-29National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

this was the first time I saw this group in concert and really enjoyed it. They really give it their all, so much so that the show lasted three hours -- I can't believe I'm saying this but that was a bit long considering the seating at the NAC is very uncomfortable. Nonetheless, Alain Morisod truly enjoys his craft as do his group. Highly recommended.

As Good As Ever - A.Morisod & Sweet People

by musicman1400 on 2011-05-29National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

Even after seeing them perform over the last 25 years ( seeing them at least every 2 years ), they are still very entertaining and very very pleasant to hear and see alive! As usual, time didn't seem to be important to them as they were on stage for over 3 hours singing song after song!! the only bit of disappointment I may have had is that they didn't perform enough of their old songs as I would have liked. But I do understand that they can't sing all of their songs in a short period. I still enjoyed their performance very much. And as usual, once the concert was over, they came and met their fans and signed autographs. This is truly a very much appreciated gesture for their many fans! You can be sure that when they come back in 2 years time, I will again be there!!! Great great concert!!!!
