About

Aldous Harding on Tour

Often described as a "song actor" with an offbeat, captivating stage presence, Aldous Harding leaves fans reeling after her shows. Harding never fails to produce a poetic and abstract performance, filled with memorable showmanship. The New Zealand singer eagerly takes the stage on her 2022 tour, spanning 15 countries. The tour, which begins in Europe and the United Kingdom and finishes in North America, features beloved songs such as "Old Peel" and songs from her 2022 album, Warm Chris. Harding has managed to combine cryptic and complicated lyrics with an easy-going folk sound, both secondary to her haunting voice. Described by many as chameleonic, Harding's voice carries with it the apparent ability to connect with her audience on a different level. Catch Aldous Harding on her 2022 tour.

Aldous Harding Live in Concert

Aldous Harding grew up in Lyttelton, New Zealand, a port town on the north shore of Lyttelton Harbour/Whakaraupō, on the Eastern coast of the South Island of New Zealand. She wrote her first songs as a teenager, while living on a farm, in a town with no record stores. Harding comes from a family of musicians, her mother being folk singer Lorina Harding. Aldous Harding was first discovered while waiting outside of a music venue by New Zealand folk-pop singer/songwriter Anika Moa. Moa approached Harding outside of the venue where Moa was set to perform and asked Harding to play with her as a support. Soon after this fateful evening, Harding began touring with country collective The Eastern for two years. Harding's self-titled debut album premiered in 2014, combining deep, sometimes dark and always alluring lyrics, with traditional folk guitar -- a cocktail of musical magnificence that earned her a loyal following. Harding's obvious musical talent is enhanced by her ability to create mesmerizing lyrical poetry, irreverent of standard songwriting techniques. Harding revels in her ability to "dissociate," as she calls it, while writing her lyrics, allowing them to flow freely. Harding's voice carries an ethereal tone, which seems to transcend the realm between reality and fantasy. Fans rave, claiming that Harding tells them the stories within themselves. Harding is no stranger to collaborations, as she has joined forces with artists such as Marlon Williams, John Parish, Mike Hadreas (aka Perfume Genius), and Fenne Lily. Harding was the winner of the 2019 APRA Silver Scroll award for her song "The Barrel." Harding also often collaborates with partner, H. Hawkline.
