Otherness is the first album in over a decade from the group Rolling Stone declared "put Canadian post-hardcore on the map." Five guys playing aggressive rock grew to a hockey-arena headlining phenomenon while pushing and pulling between spirited guitar leads, melodic might, and emotional weight.
AOF released four hugely successful studio albums, all Music Canada Platinum-certified: Alexisonfire (2002), Watch Out (2004), Crisis (2006), and Old Crows / Young Cardinals (2009). Kerrang! counted Crisis (2006) among the 50 Best Albums of the 21st Century, alongside undeniable classics from Green Day, Muse, Slipknot, My Chemical Romance, Blink-182, and Fall Out Boy. After Crisis hit No. 1 in Canada, at a stage where many bands compromise in search of greater success, Alexisonfire doubled down with even heavier riffs on album four, Old Crows/Young Cardinals. Released in 2009, it became their highest-charting record in America.
The guys never sacrificed the punk soul summoned in beat-up vans and basement shows. Blending their classic sound with new and forward-thinking textures, they produced Otherness themselves. Jonah Falco of Fucked Up mixed.
As Revolver Magazine noted in 2019: "It's hard to overstate the influence Alexisonfire had in post-hardcore through the mid-2000s, their combination of singing and screaming setting the blueprint for many artists to come."

fantastic. perfection. everything I dreamed of. LOVED The Used so much.
didn't know what to expect - went on Friday and was blown away! Came back for the Saturday show...Awesome! A great show put on by all. Cheers!
This show was incredible. We saw counterparts, they were super fun and the lead singer was hilarious. TheUsed is always amazing- so nostalgic, they've still got "it"Burt is so entertaining and honestly has a beautiful voice. They know how to get the crowd hyped. Alexisonfire was absolutely incredible. Their dynamic is SO special. Each member is individually remarkable, they feed off each other and interact in the most magical way. I have seen them many times over the years and they honestly just get better and better. My only complaint was the merch line was insanely long, we would have been waiting for hours and missed the opening acts. Instead of doing a few small merch booths, there were 2 MASSIVE booze tents. Many of the folks attending the show don't drink, and the alcohol tents weren't that busy. I would plan next time to have more merch offerings. Not everyone wants to waste money on alcohol, and I would have loved to spend money on a shirt or memorabilia. Just an idea. Otherwise the show was absolutely amazing!
Went to both night day one city in colour dloan and metric rocked Friday night alexisonfire was a total blast used counter parted gave a great performance totally recommending it to any one who loves live music from canadain bands a must see 5 ☆s
This was a truly out standing show by a truly outstanding Canadian band that has and will leave a tremendous legacy in Canadian rock history. The event was very well managed in every way as well. Lots of security and they were really chill. The merch set up was so cool up under the canopy. The crowd was very friendly and appreciative. Great great show all the way around and the sound quality and lights were astonishing. Finally I just wanna say that many years ago, around 2002, I met Dallas and Wade after a Guelph show at the Trasheteria and I remember saying I loved what they did but would like to hear them sing more and scream less lol. I remember listening to their stuff months and years after that and realized I was totally wrong to say that - it was more about Dallas’s amazing vocal style and tone but years later I realized George is super talented as well and is an essential part of the Alexisonfire sound. That’s their thing and they do it to complete perfection. If Little Richard screamed in some of the earliest rock n roll records then I’m pretty sure it’s just fine today as well and Alexisonfire has proven themselves as truly talented and unique time and again and continue to. I hope to see them live again some time and hopefully in a venue as cool as Montebello Park!
After missing out on year 1, glad I got to experience BR2 and loved the bands involved
Absolutely amazing performance ill be going to born and raised every year!
The bands were epic. Everyone did a great job engaging the audience, even in the heat. Security and vendors were friendly and helpful. Only downside was the water at the handwashing stations ran out, resulting in a lot of unwashed hands because you were unable to leave and return to the venue.
Counterparts, The Used et Alexisonfire ont livré un spectacle incroyable.
Alexisonfire puts on another unreal performance. Even playing a song that they haven't played since released in 2004. The used and Counterparts as openers were just icing on the cake.
