Great comedy night, 2 for 1 deal with Shen Weng

    by Nurse_Ja on 2024-04-04Meridian Hall - Toronto

I enjoyed watching a comedy show at Meridian Hall. Shen Weng opened for Ali and did a great job getting the crowd ready for Ali Wong to appear. Getting into the venue was a bit slow. I don't know if metal detectors would help. The venue seating was fine and comfortable. I wish there were monitors so you could see the performer.

Ali was incredibly funny, there wasn’t a joke that the audience didn’t laugh at. Loved it. Would definitely go again

    Hilarious!

by Khadija on 2024-04-02Meridian Hall - Toronto

This was my first Ali show and she was hilarious. She doesn't beat around the bush. My only complaint was that I wish that the venue had screens as it would have been nice to see her facial expressions while she was telling her jokes. Her opener Sheng Wang was hilarious too and I can't wait for him to come back for his own show!

I found the show entertaining but not up to the level of her comedy specials.

    Flawless!!

by JCru on 2024-04-02Meridian Hall - Toronto

Sheng Wang had us in tears even before Ali came on - insane ability to turn the mundane into the hilarious. I feel seen Sheng Wang! Ali's set was personal, raunchy and so damn funny. The writing was so smart and so hilarious and her delivery was on point. Loved how she brought it all together. Haven't laughed that hard in ages. So well done!

    Lackluster

by Show goer on 2024-04-02Meridian Hall - Toronto

Felt more like a divorce therapy session. I expected to laugh a lot more but the type of jokes just felt flatter and tired. I wish I could say ot was better, but it wasn't.
